Despite the impression we might get from some in these forums, the ONS say that we are happier - despite Brexit etc.
Forget worries of Brexit cliff edges and the world going to war on a Trump tweet - we're actually quite happy (though it may come as some surprise).
Turn that frown upside down because happiness levels have ticked up slightly across the UK, according to official figures on the nation's wellbeing.
And anxiety levels remain the same, based on the latest data for the year ending March from the Office for National Statisitcs (ONS), indicating that satisfaction with life overall is on the rise amid a year that many would describe as a total dumpster fire.

We're hampered economically by being in the EU. We'll do better out for sure.

    Can you explain how?

    Why?
There are examples galore in this thread alone. ;)

Does a bit doesn't it? I'll add it to the list of things the leave campaign predicted for the future of the EU which never came to pass.

Can I put Turkey joining the EU on the list too?

Doesn't the myriad of comments, opinions and discussions about the EU's future direction demonstrate what a political mess it is?

    An original thought from Conrad?
Nope, just another copy and paste job.
    Disappointing.

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

    Apparently not, eh?
Just as so many of the predictions are still ongoing; there has largely been no resolution to so many of the potential difficulties posted about.
    Migration/refugees: unresolved.
    Reform: unresolved.
    Economy/employment: unresolved.
    Inequality; unresolved
The rise in "populism": well look at Germany. How about France - or Holland. Odds on Italy, anyone? ;)

You could've substituted 'EU' for 'UK' quite easily and said the same thing. I'd suggest the UK is in a bit of a political mess and the opinions and discussions about the UK's future direction are a mixture of noise and genuine debate.

Probably the same answer in the EU.

My happiness doesn't depend on Brexit nor Trump.

No, your happiness lies in a bottle of bubbly it seems. ;)

    Ciao!
According to the article linked though (warning; you might not like this):
"It's worth noting that employment rates rose during the period covered by this report, and other ONS analysis showed people perceiving an improvement in their own financial situations and in the overall economy," said Steel.

Not really the same thing. Uk govt doesn't have its tail wagged by local authorities.
