Brexit, the economy and house prices (Part 3)

An unpleasant comment with a nasty little icon to go with it. It must be dreadful to live your life feeling that bitter about people who don't share your views.
Sorry to disappoint you but the elderly leave voters who aren't around will have been replaced by a new set.
It's amusing just how many people on the left continually believe that the current right-wing oldies will be replaced by the current left-wing youngsters. You'd think they'd have learnt by now that the current left-wing youngsters turn into the next generation of right-wing oldies. The only ones who don't are those who depend on the state to provide everything for them throughout their lives & are bitter at everybody who takes the risk of stepping out of their comfort zone to get on.
Young people don't want Brexit and they have a lot longer to oppose it than you have to oppose them.0 -
I did say that Eurocrats wouldn't be happy and that they were unlikely to agree to UK proposals regardless.
Well following Manfred Webber's little "concerned" hissy-fit yesterday and as I predicted, here's another - this from Guy Verhofstadt:The chief Brexit coordinator for the European Parliament, Guy Verhofstadt, has said Theresa May's plan for a EU migrant registration scheme is "out of question".
Either he's not been listening to Juncker or he just can't keep shtum.
Very compromising, that.0 -

That's certainly not true according to these:It has been estimated that only 36 per cent of people in the 18 – 24 year old category voted in the EU referendum. 64 per cent of young people did not bother to take themselves down to the polling station and place their vote
*Disclaimer*
As I have pointed out before, there are only estimates.
Votes cast in UK elections are not normally counted in any other way than by candidate as chosen by the voter.
Read this too from The University Of Warwick; it is very recent and it kinda puts paid to both your and Moby's ideas of voting patterns. There is also very little evidence to support the notion that the young are fanatical about Brexit0 -
We've already come a long way from all the talk of No Deal being an acceptable outcome and not paying the EU a pennyDon't blame me, I voted Remain.0

Even the Brexiteers' Guru, pub bore Tim Martin, doesn't believe anymore we'll leave the EU.Brexit may not involve the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, according to Tim Martin, who warns Theresa May’s anticipated speech on Friday is a “partial step to not leaving”.
Game over.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Game over.
I guess that if you really believe its "Game over" you can stop crying, moaning and move on..."I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -

I'm moving on....to the Windlesham Golf Club in a moment.
Being in a celebratory mood, I might even put an extra bottle of Krug Grande Cuvee on the tab.
Ciao!Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Game over.
You know that the report you quote was from before the speech, right?
And that he says "may not.."?
So before TM said:The United Kingdom is leaving the European Union. We will no longer be members of its single market or its customs union.0 -
Catalonia - and Europeans are nervous according to this:The remarks fanned the flames of the latest separatist campaign in an embattled European Union, a bloc of 27 member states with their own respective histories and often fragile national identities. Brussels said it would not interfere with the Catalan referendum, But while most European leaders have avoided speaking out against the referendum directly, many wish to avoid a successful precedent for a breakaway region welcomed into the bloc, given the number of similar regions across Europe that might soon try to do the same.
Despite Spain's best attempts at stopping the proposed referendum, it looks like Catalonians are determined to press ahead:The comments from the former President of Catalonia follow days of extreme measures by Madrid in a bid to scupper the vote.
Speaking in Westminster, Artur Mas told Express.co.uk: “We have plans B and C. They are looking for ballot boxes, they are looking for ballot papers.
“If they find them we have other plans in order to help people vote.”
(Yes, the Express; before someone somewhere decries the source it is an "exclusive".)
The Spanish really are in danger of pushing Catalonians into independence with their domineering, just as the EU seemed to do in our referendum.0 -

This is comedy gold. Belgian politician Guy Verhofstadt seems to be unaware that EU citizens staying in Belgium for any length of time have to register their presence.
