Brexit, the economy and house prices (Part 3)

Labour's divisions are over the single market and customs union.......... whether we stay in these permanently or or for a set period of time. Recently Corbyn has become more pragmatic and wants to leave it as an open question as long as he can. A ggod political tactic when in opposition imo. Labour is also more united regarding the right of parliament to scrutinise the 'deal'. Also no one in Labour as far as I can see is advocating walking away without a deal on WTO terms? The tory divisions are at the very heart of the govmt itself...not just in the party.0

We don't know what we're doing? Of couse we do. We are giving our kids a furure. It's a trade deal not a trip to mars.
Really?.....do you think restricting the freedom of movement of your children to work throughout Europe is giving them a future! There again from what you were saying they would probably have not taken advantage of it anyway. My parents encouraged their children to leave home and find work/housing in different parts of the country. They brought us up to be independent and to acknowledge the world didn't owe us a living because we were British. That world has gone!0 -

It will be fine, everyone has too much to lose for it to be otherwise.
Those sunlit uplands are not so far away now.
This is (yet another) good day.0 -
I don't think you are right there are a large number of brexiters in the Labour Party and a very large number of older Labour voters are hardened brexiters. I do not think it will be possible to stay in single market and custom union and satisfy the vast majority of leave voters.
The older hardened Labour brexiters will have to decide whether their jobs and food costs will go up or down with a no deal brexit. It is basic common sense that leaving on WTO terms with no deal will increase living costs and older Labour voters are exactly the type it will hit most! To convince them of this is a challenge....but the penny will drop!0 -

We are an embarrassment.
An opinion piece, and (worse) according to Ian Dunt - who is, and I quote: "known as one of Westminster’s most vocal Remainers."
(Google it.)
IMHO his name is very slightly mis-spelled.0 -

Yesterday you posted an opinion piece by Diane James and then posted this.A_Medium_Size_Jock wrote: »Why seek to discredit the author; why not instead debate the content? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

More "just get on with it" is what it looks like.
We already know that most of Europe doesn't care about Brexit. It barely affects most of them.
It also seems that a lot of Europe isn't that interested in what May has to say.
It may be an opinion piece from a Remainer, but I don't doubt that the photograph is genuine.0
