At the current time individual member states still have responsibility for their own fiscal affairs. :D
    From the article:
Perhaps the most crucial factor behind Portugal’s reversal of fortunes is the brightening outlook in the eurozone and global economy this year. The country’s export performance has improved, investment is on the up, and accelerating growth has helped narrow Portugal’s budget black hole to its lowest in more than two decades.
Read the article next time before making some inane comment, okay?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Even humour is banned in the EU Parliament - if it is not pro-EU. ;)

Even humour is banned now in the EU if it does not put the EU in a good light - certainly within the EU Parliament. ;)

It is paywalled but those without access will get the gist.

Images here should you wish to take a peek:

If it's all about the German elections, why do some of the banned cartoons not even mention the place?

I am a liberal. But you can't be a liberal and ban free speech. Hate speech, by all means. But not anything that is within the boundaries of the law.

The link was to support that of the Telegraph which as I said is paywalled plus it provides the images. ;)
    Thus you assume too much.
    Again.
Other than that which you see here, you have no idea what my views are.

It may well be argued that your views are the extremist ones, being so devoutly pro-EU.
Like others I suspect, I noted your holiday destination.
Many Europeans will no doubt be immensely pleased at your fervent support of the EU - especially with your choice of destination.

I was watching a Schulz interview where he was being questioned by the audience and a member of the audience asked a question about unaffordable housing. I hadn't realised Germany was experiencing a housing crisis. Makes sense though.

Looks like Germans are getting to experience the full effects of mass migration.
    Merkel vs. Schulz

    Housing Shortage Gets Political

With skyrocketing rents and housing prices in much of Germany, Social Democrats hope to turn housing into an election issue against Angela Merkel.
When taxi drivers, bus drivers or nurses can no longer afford to live within a city, “something isn’t right,” Mr. Schulz said in his address at the “Housing Construction Days” conference in Berlin. He called housing a “fundamental human right,” arguing that when rising rents drive people away from a district they have lived in for decades, it amounts to a loss of basic human dignity.

Good Luck Germans. This is what happens when politicians and business tell you that you need more workers, you get priced out of your own home.

This and massive German foodbank use are just the kinds of news that never appear on MSM, hence the fake news label. This is turn enables 'progressive' myth narratives to thrive.

It's not really about German elections per se, as Ms Bearder informed MEP Stellios Kouloglou.
They must not be: "of an inflammatory nature or contradictory to the values on which the Union was founded ore likely to give rise to disturbances".
The letter below pretty much sums it up, including at the end:
Together with MEP Patrick Le Hyaric we strongly believe that Ms Bearder's decision is extremely harmful both to democracy and the European Parliament.
    Indeed it is.

    And the beat goes on....

....The Remoaners were out in force on business news channels this morning - Tony Blur and Ken Clarke in particular. All news channels making a mountain out of Boris' article.....

....I guess they are all preaching to the choir but watching the rich politicians and business in cohoots like this makes me wonder if they will eventually get their way...Boris does seem to be worried about some sort of stitch up....

Mrs May secured a political agreement with Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, to apply its CETA deal with the EU to the UK after Brexit, but with added “improvements”.

    Eventually, yes.
Not because of Boris, Blair or Clarke, but because it makes economic sense.
