Ireland are again not happy - this time about south American beef:"Now is not the time for the EU to make a new offer on Mercosur with the threat and uncertainty of Brexit and the associated impact that the sterling exchange rate is having on the beef sector,” Irish Farmers Association (IFA) President Joe Healy saidilovehouses wrote: »Must admit I struggled to see the humour in a dead arm emerging from a grave wearing a swastika and giving a Nazi salute.

There wasn't any humour in any of them. The aim is to offend. Two with swastikas, another showing the EU kicking women and children down stairs etc.
I can see why they won't be exhibited at the EU's 60th birthday party. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
They haven't thought through the implications of them reversing Brexit.
You are right. Big business (and the Blair cabal) is furiously lobbying for a lite Brexit (in reality a no Brexit). It's almost continuous in the business media. Lite/no Brexit, of course, suits big business because they keep the same high EU-protected prices in the UK market, they keep their UK access to cheap labour, and via their lobbying budgets in Brussels they can carry on controlling the EU regulations which keep out the competition.
I think maybe Boris smells a rat or a sell out. He's firmly distancing himself from it.0 -
Tony Blair Puts Chances of Brexit Being Reversed at 30 Percent
- Former prime minister calls for second vote on terms of split
- Warns that May might not be able to get parliament’s backing
In an interview with Bloomberg TV in New York, Blair said voters should be given a second opportunity to decide on Brexit once the outcome becomes more clear. He was prime minister between 1997 and 2007.
“I still have some difficulty seeing how, after the general election which produced a hung parliament in the U.K., this government is going to get its form of Brexit through,” Blair said.
“I think there’s around about a 30 percent chance it’s changed, but a lot will depend on how the debate develops over this year.” Blair later clarified in an interview off camera that he believes there’s a 30 percent chance the split won’t happen at all.0 -

Brexit-backing Labour MP Kate Hoey sparks row with 'Orwellian' BBC criticismBrexit-backing Labour MP Kate Hoey has sparked a row after accusing the BBC of "undermining our country" with its coverage of the EU.
The Eurosceptic faced a backlash from within her own party after singling out Newsnight presenter Evan Davis for criticism over the BBC's coverage.
She tweeted: "Does anyone else think that @BBCNewsnight and @EvanHD seem to delight in undermining our country in EU negotiations #embitteredremainers”

I can see why they won't be exhibited at the EU's 60th birthday party.unfortunate and unprecedented censorshipTogether with MEP Patrick Le Hyaric we strongly believe that Ms Bearder's decision is extremely harmful both to democracy and the European Parliament.
Still, if the EU doesn't .....................

Naïve view. People like Rudd were passionate Remainers and deep down still are, agreeing a settled view is not going to possible unless the Remoaner din in the media quietens down
The clock really is ticking and the government have to agree an approach. Don't let yourself think it's all too difficult because there's a media bubble.Example last nights Sky News NI Brexit piece was wall to wall gloom, utterly one sided fake news, out of touch pious Beth Rigby & Faisal Islam falling over themselves with glee
Example of being lost in the media bubble. I've never heard of either of them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
UK'S SWISS MOVEChancellor Philip Hammond and Home Secretary Amber Rudd ‘to team up to push Swiss-style soft Brexit’
The Chancellor and Home Secretary are said to be keen on mirroring Switzerland's relationship with the EUTHE battle for Brexit has exploded amid claims Philip Hammond and Amber Rudd are teaming up with Whitehall chiefs to back a soft-Brexit based on Switzerland’s relationship with the EU.
In a blistering assault on the “shambolic” exit process so far, the ex-boss of Vote Leave Dominic Cummings warned the Tories risk handing the keys of No10 to Jeremy Corbyn if they choose the “Swiss model”.But furious allies of David Davis accused Mr Cummings of “performing the dark arts” adding that it was “b
” to suggest he was siding with the Chancellor and top civil servants.
A Brexit department source said Mr Davis was the “grown up working to deliver what the British people voted for” and insisted they were still looking at “all the options”.

FYI Amber Rudd ran an investment company, has a brother who is a financial lobbyist and her father is a stock broker.
I'm pretty sure she's going to do everything she can to facilitate Brexit lite.0
