Apparently Tony Blur wants us to stay in the EU and to strart deporting EU citizens who don't have a job after 3 months - right Tony that's a great solution - not.

How? That's what we can already do and solves the perceived problems without all the damage.
  • Its an almighty mess. It is increasingly likely that there will be a transitional period that retains most current EU arrangements after March 2019, the scheduled date for Brexit.

He was on Andrew Marr this morning talking as though he was some great political messiah. He reckons he can sort things out and then we'll go for a second referendum.

Andrew Marr did point out that no political party will support this so he'd never get it through Parliament, but stopped short of calling him deluded.

So far, despite concerted efforts at disruption, the UK's economy is not doing too badly.
There has been no "crash"; no need for an "emergency budget"; and the sun still rises every morning.

Which rules and regulations will be binned?

That will be down to future UK governments of the day to decide which regulations to bin but one I would like binned soon after we leave this m afia led political cartel is below.
Are you going to be the first Brexiteer in any of the 12 anti EU threads who actually manages to name ONE SINGLE EU RULE that you don't like and state how it is materially affecting your freedom?
Currently there are thousands and I mean thousands of legally owned deactivated weapons owned by historical re-enactors which (since the new EU rules came into force) which cannot be sold legally unless they are sent away to have extra deactivation work carried out which will cost upwards of £120-00 per weapon and then they need to be sent off to the London/Birmingham proof house to be re certified ,also at an additional cost of around £120-00 per weapon. So its quite possible to own a weapon which you cannot legally sell and is now worthless. Currently the UK system allows the deacts to be field stripped and dry fired which for education purposes is great but the new EU regs butcher the weapons so they can't do either.

When the EU decided to change rules on deacts they could have taken on board the UK certification process which is excellent by the way but they were too arogant to do they so they took on board the advice from a couple of liberal lefty EU MEP's who carried out a report rather than just taking on a system that worked (UK ). Now the weapons are basically butchered so they are completely welded up, can't be field stripped etc.

I could post a few more which affect my life more but the point is there are many regulations which affect me personally more than the one above but the fact is there are numerous regulations that in their own way inhibit my life which I have no control over and I have no power to change given the fact that I can't vote out the EU political elite.

I also have a problem with EN standards on timber products which now means we have lesser quality Ply sheets being sold as WBP (Water and boil proof ply) when in fact they aren't. When we had BS Standards we had confidence in the standard and products.

Do some research and see the issue with illegal logged hardwood timber brought into the EU via French ports from The Congo etc and sold as Certified as sustainably produced when in fact its not. The EU knew this was happening and turned a blind eye for years ,as the EU does with many issues.Far easier for the UK to address this issue than the EU with such a huge border.

I noticed you failed to answer the question I asked you in the post you have quoted but never mind.

I did note that he spoke directly to MP's as individuals rather than as members of a party. Blair recognises the parliamentary arithmetic is problematic for Brexit to work, and if Brexit gets bogged down in our Parliament it doesn't happen without a 2nd referendum in my view.
It's no coincidence that he speaks one on one with Juncker midweek and then goes on the 'Sundays' and talks about a weakening of FOM that might appeal to those who voted Brexit over concerns re.immigration.
Rest assured the Great British Brexit Fudge is gathering pace.

He's also saying his previous immigration strategy is no longer suitable for the UK

Nice one Tony , only about 15 years too late, glad you have caught up though. Meanwhile some have tried to do something about it

I doubt that....only because I don't think they ever had a strategy really.

A political strategy must by definition have some consideration for your electorate. If you don't have their support, you aint got a hill of beans.

Anyway, where was Mr Blair during the referendum campaign? He could have joined Remain team if he wanted.

Perhaps he was too busy saving the Middle East in his peace envoy role :(

My thoughts too but Cameron asked for that and didn't get it. In any case it would require revocation of European Citizens Rights Directive 2004/38/EC for that to happen and it won't because it requires unanimous consent of all members.

He was too busy making millions.

And who is he taking money from now?

You can't trust the man. he's probably being paid millions by the city to try to reverse Brexit.

I'm watching the Tony Blur interview right now . Am I missing something? He's not saying anything new, it's like he's stuck in early 2016.
