It is Saturday, the day of the "big" pro-EU demonstration in London.
Another display from hardcore remainers of their displeasure at democracy. It's not a bad day weather-wise either.
So what happened; of the 150,000 expected why have only 50,000 (and that's an organisers estimate so probably substantially less) turned out?
It does look like real EU support is not as high as some thought. :D

The comments in the Standard are funny too. ;)

Says alot when there are 3 million EU citizens in the UK - say what? They couldn't be bothered demonstrating.

50,000 pathetic. I went on the million plus anti Iraq war rally - did it make any difference - not one jot....Tony Blur and his cabol went to war anyways

PS those comments were really funny

    https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/sep/08/uk-economy-treading-water-as-eurozone-stretches-ahead-says-bcc

Britain is locked into a “low growth trajectory” that will see GDP growth dip next year while the eurozone shrugs off Brexit uncertainty to stretch ahead, according to a leading business group.

The British Chambers of Commerce said a squeeze on household budgets and the failure of exporters to capitalise on the low pound meant the UK was “treading water”.

In the latest downbeat view of Britain’s prospects as the Brexit date nears, the BCC cut its growth rate forecast for 2018 to 1.2% from 1.3%. The prediction for 2019 was also lowered, to 1.4% from 1.5%. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank confirmed eurozone growth forecasts of 1.8% for 2018 and 1.7% for 2019 as the economic recovery of the single currency bloc continues.

Apparently Tony Blur wants us to stay in the EU and to strart deporting EU citizens who don't have a job after 3 months - right Tony that's a great solution - not.

The EU know we are leaving, they also know that once we leave much of their rules, regulations etc taken into UK law will be binned . There will also be wholesale reform of immigration rules and they take umbridge at this?..

What did they expect to happen when a country leaves?.. !!!!!! they need to grow up and act like adults rather than children. Its quite pathetic when you read Juncker's and Verhofstadt's latest rants. If that was David Davis or Teresa May we would all cringe. I feel embarrassed on behalf of other EU member states.

Whereas I feel embarrassment at the way we are being seen by other countries. The Brexiteers thought the EU was going to crumble and Brexit was the start. Not happened has it. The EU economies are now growing faster than us. They are unified towards us and we will be sidelined in international affairs. Well done Brexiteers. It's so depressing.

Its a little like remoaners who predicted WW3, millions of lost jobs and emergency budgets if we voted to leave Not happened has it. Still time The EU economies are now growing faster than us. They are unified towards us and we will be sidelined in international affairs. Which international affairs are they? Well done Brexiteers. It's so depressing. You are a depressing person.

He's also saying his previous immigration strategy is no longer suitable for the UK

Nice one Tony , only about 15 years too late, glad you have caught up though. Meanwhile some have tried to do something about it

The EU have been growing faster than Uk only for the last 6 months. There are reasons for that, not least of which is the uncertainty. But Europe as a whole is growing far slower than the rest of the world due to EU problems.

The EU 27 may look unified now, but trade talks haven't started yet. Let's see how together they are when the the EU puts their export markets at risk.

Far from currently having a voice in international affairs we allow the EU to represent us on the world stage. On World trade, climate change and other important committees we have no voice. After Brexit we will be fully represented and able to put forward our own views just as other independent nations are.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

Are you going to be the first Brexiteer in any of the 12 anti EU threads who actually manages to name ONE SINGLE EU RULE that you don't like and state how it is materially affecting your freedom?
