eBid Lifetime subscription half price til midnight tonight

Options
Not only are eBid offering their one-off Lifetime subscription for half price (until midnight tonight), but if you are already a member of eBid and have paid previous subscription costs, those costs come off the lowered price as well!

Some people could upgrade for almost nothing!

Now if that isn't a money saving tip, I don't know what is.
Why Pay High Fees
on eBay when there ARE alternative sites available?

We've had 10 x Listings on eBid which I had forgotten about (No sales) & I doubt this will improve the Seller's experience against the sales/traffic possible through eBay.

Also according to their FAQ Seller+ is £69.99, so you only getting £20 off
    http://uk.ebid.net/help_register.php#1

    Upgrade Fees
    Seller : £0.00
    Seller+ : 7 Day £1.99 | 30 Day £6.99 | 90 Day £16.99 | 365 Day £59.99 | Lifetime £69.99

The banner on their front page has the price at £99.99 down to £49.99.
However, I hear that the price varies depending on how many subscription payment have already been made. The more that has already been paid, the lower the cost of the Lifetime sub.

However, whether the saving is £50 or £20, the overall result is that you can run auctions with ZERO FEES EVER - no listing fees, no re-posting fees and no final value fees. It may take more effort to sell stuff on eBid, and it may not suit those who aren't prepared to put in the work, but the potential savings are huge for those smart enough to take advantage.

BTW, just try and find out how many auctions on Feebay end up with no buyers but still have to pay for the privilege - tens of thousands every day. At least over on eBid if you don't sell you can have a zero charge.

Fair Point but I would need to see more buyers using the site, as the same items are listed on eBay & we sell loads every week.

If eBid became more viable it would be a great saving against our current £1800 monthly eBay fee's across 2 shops

I've used ebid for about 5 years, sold 7 items. There are a lot of timewasters on there because all you need is an email address and you can start bidding.

I've stopped listing on it as it's just a complete waste of my time.

If ebid was a serious threat ebay would have bought them by now. I registered a seller account on ebid and they charged me for it. Sold nowt on it. Ebid do nothing to promote their site and expect the users to do all the marketing for them, they are probably hoping ebay will buy them for millions so that they can retire but that ain't gonna happen.

And Ebid expect people to pay to sell on their site when nothing sells?

Just browsing the site I come across 90% of sellers with zero feedback, it would not surprise me if these were the guys that ebay suspended.

Ebid id about the closest thing there is to a competitor to ebay.

When ebay first launched here there was not much on it.

If ebayers want true competition, then it's well worth while listing on ebid and tazbar to help build the sites.
  • Ebid will never be true competition for Ebay.

It has zero marketing. Only a big company with serious cash could take on ebay.

Ebay are driving plenty of their former customers to ebid and tazbar...

Anyone who wants to get a decent price for their item will sell on ebay.

Even suspended ebay sellers are returning to ebay rather than attempt to sell on ebid.

Ebid charging sellers for lifetime memberships is just another example of them trying to run before they can walk.
