I don't recognise that description of the BBC news app....No auto play videos on my up to date version. Layout is clean and efficient.
As for Weather apps, theirs is as good as any of the others.
I'm going to give dark sky a punt as the hour warning of rain coming will be handy for me. Far too many BBC forecasts from their site add in a sneaky chance of rain which is pretty much useless.0 -
Rain Alarm is good. Serves me well.0

UK weather app is hands down the best weather app I've seen anywhere. That is to say it might not look that flashy but it has the accuracy and features that stop me getting wet when cycling. The rain radar is particularly good.

W use the BBC Weather site and it works fine. Set our location, access it, within seconds it's updated. Every time, on 2 phones, a tablet, desktop and a laptop. We live in a rural Lincolnshire village.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I use both the BBC Weather app and Yahoo weather and find the latter to be more accurate more of the time, although they don't have the number of detailed locations that the BBC app has.0

How can they be more accurate, if they don't have the number of detailed locations that BBC has?
Might be accurate in your area, not in others. The BBC app I have found to be quick to load and accurate in places across the UK.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I use the BBC Weather app.
If it's draining your battery, something is wrong with your phone not auto closing apps. There's many) an app for that.0 -

I've become sold on the Weather Channel. Seems remarkably accurate, and has rain radar built into both the website and the app.0
