WM x2 on line - weather forecast says it's not going to rain here, but it's very cloudy so I'm not convinced! Fingers crossed.

After counselling I went in to town to pick up my new specs. I can see through them!!! :T The first pair they provided I couldn't see through the left lens :( They said my eyes needed 'time to adjust'. I've worn specs for 44 years and never needed 'time' before, not even when I switched to varifocals. It turned out the left lens wasn't made to my prescription, which they realised when they finally checked the thing. (After I'd spent a few hours watching telly with my left eye shut because it couldn't 'adjust'!!! :( )Even then they 'couldn't understand how it had happened' - I didn't care how, I just wanted what I'd paid for. And now that's what I have.:T. When I left the guy said 'see you again' - hmmmmm, maybe not ;)

Whilst in town I dropped off the cs bag to which I'd added a wind chime which a NN brought me from Morocco because I'd looked after her rabbit (years ago - never hung it up as I prefer silence / birdsong to 'chimes' :o )

DS also agreed to a ripped t shirt, and a pinyata full of beer bottle tops (brought home from Uni 3 years ago) being binned. :T

Next? WUDUPA and sink shining for me.

Good afternoon everyone, Hope all is well, hugs to those that need/want them. Please count me in for this week.

So far today I have let the chickens out and fed the animals, taken the kids to school and emptied the TD.

    Monday: Kitchen and Dining Room
    Paid stuff
    HHI
Check survey sites, Redeem where possible and Update challenge
    Check uni emails
Sort through uni stuff and see what is still needed
    Sweep the floor
    Look after friends dogs
Dust shelves, or the tops of the wall cabinets
Clear, clean and polish the sink
    Wipe the hob
    Collect the kids from school
Clean the door seals on the dishwasher, scrub the filters, top up the salt and rinse aid levels and run it on a hot wash with a cup of vinegar in the top layer
In your Room of Doom put three things (no more, no less) away where they belong. For the rest of the week, not just today, every time you go in there put three more things away.
    Give yourself a manicure
    Close the chickens away

    Hello everyone!

I made myself get up at half six this morning, have got really late on a morning with it being school holidays and it makes such a difference to get up a bit earlier and do some chores before the day gets going.

So the dw is empty, the few bits of ironing are done, the washing is out and the kitchen and LR are tidy. Just got in from job no. 1 and now on with job no. 2.

Oooh and a nice carpet fitter is putting down a new carpet in our bedroom - v. exciting!!!

That is utterly disgraceful! I certainly wouldn't be returning; I wonder if some other poor patient got the lens you were meant to have?

I'm pretty knocked out now; been to the optician this morning, and that's always stressful for me; also got my morphine prescription filled, and did a fruitless search for a new stick of shaving soap for Mr LW; none to be had at all in S/Drug, and B00ts only had the ones with the plastic cover which are more than twice the price we usually pay - it's not urgent, but he's just started the "spare" out of the cupboard so we now need to buy another spare. I believe T£sco do them so will look next time we're there. Also did a small @ldi shop on the way home - I'd taken my eye off the ball and urgently needed plain flour (as in need it for what I'm making for tonight's dins).
    Still, I think I've done justice to HB's list.:o

Anyone like to join me for a roast dinner? Have spent £11 on a joint of beef as a treat because everyone was saying we never have roast beef. DH might be late home, which cant be helped, DS2 has disappeared off to his girlfriends, DS1 is not really hungry.

Never again. In fact I now dont know if I can be bothered to do the veg and potatoes etc. Grrrr ....

YSL slice the beef and freeze it then just warm through in gravy when it is needed.

Today before the paid stuff I did the dailies ,walked the dogs, dusted the dusty bits in the LR and cleaned our bedroom.

Out tonight. Will probably go off. List tomorrow too.
Spend less now, work less later.

Thank you Lamewolf I won't be going back there. The left lens was basically a plain magnified lens like they put in reading glasses. I knew as soon as I put them on that there was a problem but was made to feel that the problem was mine  I pity the poor soul who got my lens if that's what happened...especially if their optician told them their eyes needed to get used to it. Good luck in the hunt for shaving soap.

Mr T made his delivery and I've put it all away. A friend has just had a look at the vacuum cleaner flex and says he can fix it by removing the damaged section and putting in a junction. So I'm going to put off buying a cordless vacuum until I've been back at work a little while and replenished the coffers.

Weatherman was right - no rain; dry clothes have been brought in and folded :T

    Have a good evening everyone

    Evening,

Not sure where today has gone? Visited library and got a few party bits from the cheapy shop. Washed DS trainers for hols and they are left to dry, also did another wash. Swept / vacced downstairs. Thought I may have a mouse problem  but turns out its DS making a mess (again) this time with his cookie crumble icecreams... Phew!

Spare room tidied inc removing the den we made - I need access to packing bits now. Kitchen is clean and tidy and DW going, although I haven't run it through a hot cycle.

Surprisingly for the holidays, we don't seem to have too much mess! :D

Trying to find enrollment dates for college - suspect it might be next week when we're away <rollseyes>. Need to call back tomorrow- but we plan to be out for the day to a fun park... Ah well. It'll be alright on the night. I just don't know which night :rotfl:
