Welcome back Froddington hope you had a good time. Have you come to an arrangement work-wise yet?

I did have a good time, thank you. Lots of lovely architecture.

As for work, I am there until Christmas - I have to write a letter with the revised dates on and hand it in at the start of term :(

Boning up on the facts Frodders I've learned quite a lot about the war memorials at Chatham, Portsmouth and here as they are the same, and designed to be so, but their settings make them unique. I find myself getting more emotional about the sacrifices of those men and their families the more I read. Our WW1 youngest was 14, the oldest 67, and obviously that's just of the 7,251 Naval losses. (The base of ours was extended for WWII losses.)

My Grandfather's name is currently in one of the end archways here under 'no known grave' but this will have to change soon as we have confirmation from CWGC and MoD that the grave in Italy is his and he will be getting a proper, named headstone at a rededication ceremony there in October :D:j:j

Sorry Frodders, I forgot to say, I've got a Dyson cordless which I got through their Ebay outlet for reconditioned ones.

I've seen Dys0n DC59 in Mr T and thought it was a good buy - seems to be a decent price at £169.

Came back from Dad's with 2 large courgettes, a 1lb or so of beans, and tub of tomatoes and a bag of kale :D Will be cooking tomorrow.

Suitcase put away and washing from hols done - glad it's been so sunny! A few bits from list done but am home all day tomorrow so should get more flying in then.

I sent OH and his mother and the girls off to the park and vacuumed up all the ceilings.. byebye webbies!! And I got all the dust bunnies.. she won't let me do anything to help out when she is home so I have to be sneaky.. but she had mentioned the cobwebs and apologised for them last time we were here so this time I did got them!!

OH cleaned the bath.. only so he could bath the girls.. she only uses the shower so the bath gets dusty and fluffy which is perfectly natural but that is sparkly too now.

I'm blooming starving.. pasta or soup... decisions decisions..

I have a Bosch Athlet and it's great. Runs for a-g-e-s, but I only need lowest setting, and is lovely and light. Easy to operate and empty ;) I bought it through the amazing site on offer - worth a look around though. HTH

    Hmmm

Project "return home" stalled as DD decided to go clubbing. So I have had to stay here.

I have decluttered contents of open bottle of prosecco and *drum roll* open bottle of Bolly!

And as I have 2 nighties, all my cleanser, toner, moisturiser etc it's a win.
As one of the guest said, my sister and her family know how to party!

But between you and me I missed baby sister...

  • Morning all

Feels like lunchtime already :rotfl: we got up at 4am to watch the boxing, thoroughly enjoyed it and nice to see both men being gentlemen to each other afterwards.

DS has just got up and I'm having a brew. DH gone to work, he's taken the car so we will be pottering at home today.

First job - strip the bedding xx

    Hi all

We havent got the sun yet Bossy, hope its on it way here.

Katiecat sorry to hear your news. If it helps to post on here you can vent your feelings a bit, we dont mind x

Lovely day yesterday at a local village show, then out with some friends. DS2 went to watch the boxing at a friends and rang me at 7am to see if I could pick him up, he hadnt been to bed. Feeling a bit groggy, everyone else still in bed.

Need to look at my finances and really need to have a massive sort of my clothes - which I dont want to do. I did the whole Kon-Mari thing last year but I cant put all my clothes away so some stuff has to go!

Valli.. hugs... It must be very hard especially those places where you know your sister would shine.

S'pose I should dress small girls *sigh*

And OH's dad is wasting time getting McD's later for my girls who won't eat it.. then I will have to do them food when we leave by which point they will be too hungry to eat and behaving appallingly.. why can we not just go for a pub dinner, or fish and chip picnic in the park even! where they will eat a cooked meal and I can eat too!!??? It's so selfish it drives me mad. How is it thinking of the girls when they don't eat anything.. OH mentioned it and the reply was 'it doesn't matter if they don't eat' ... erm.. YES, yes it really does.. I don't want my girls hungry and unfed.

I have discovered that while I cannot eat garlic or meat any more I can once again eat fish.. a little and not too often.. but it doesn't make my tummy crazy like it did before so there may be hope for the garlic and meat in the future!
