*Healing vibes* for you Narco, and I know it would take a miracle, but for you too, Piggers.

So sorry about your loss, KatieCat. (((Hugs)))

Aw, Bossy, I'm so disappointed it was a typo, I was sure it would have been something good, useful and beneficial. *Healing vibes* for your DS.

Those lists had things on them I've needed to do for quite a while and mostly - I still need to. *sigh* But it's been an interesting week and Flying just has to be fitted in when I've got the energy and am not racing around elsewhere. I've never had any stamina but I've had more since I gave up booze and now take my herbal medication in the evening not the morning. We do what we can, and I don't mean that as a royal We; it's us as Flyladies.

    Welcome Aelene.

I tried turning left in the supermarket on Wednesday when OH and I went and did the household stuff first - it worked. By the time I'd loaded the trolley with all the things we needed, the food shop was a tiny one. Sometimes I don't realise my habits are so ingrained I just need a new perspective to change my behaviour.

Three loads out on the line, dailies done, crossparty Brexit Summit attended and contributions made to the city's way forward. Need to catch up with myself.
    Better is good enough.

ok.. so.. I am an idiot.. I left the blooming power lead for my taplop at home.. oops!! I must have been so excited to come here.. now all of you stop laughing!!

I'll just nick OH's he won't mind.. and if he does I might not care!

He has had 2 call backs from job applications.. we REALLY need one of these to work out!

I just told OH what I had done so he threw me his power lead.. there's love for you right there!

I've left DD3 home with the boys for the first time so I have major anxiety going on.. it's only 3 nights.. the other 3 are there with her.. she is 17 in December.. and the others are 18, 20 and 21... I know.... some young people live alone by that age.. but still...

Twinkle has just gone to bed in her own bed for the first time this week.. she has been awful.. I'm sure she is teething those evil back teeth, she has 7 front ones, 6 she's had ages. We finally got her to eat something today though which was good.. I've found she eats her breakfast porridge better if she has a handful of big girl cereal to feed herself at the same time.. so she had boulders and porridge today.. and chocco hoops and porridge yesterday.. if it works!

I just had one of the tiny tubs of pringles.. my tummy bears feel deprived they want the other 3/4 of a tube and half a galaxy now.. they think they are starving to death!

Best go to bed before I raid the cats dishes! NN x

    Morning,

Up and at 'em already. Conservatory looks nice (trying to keep kids out of!) I've moved the little tables out, put a nice cover over and we have 2 of the tiered cake stands at the ready, one for savouries and one for treats.

Also want to clean the downstairs loo and vac all downstairs this morning, plus I still haven't done my nails, although I trimmed / filed / put oil on last night.

Other than that I want to bake some scones, make some sandwiches and bring presents down. Oh, and put the cake together! Mustn't forget that part!!! DD wants to take her home made crown to dancing "so everyone knows it's my early birthday" :D bless her.

Will go have a shower in a mo to wake up properly ;)

  • Morning all,

Gorgeous sunny day here today. WM on with DH mucky work clothes, will put a towel load in after that. DH has gone for a haircut and sausages are cooking for butties when he gets back.

DW unloaded and reloaded, hoovered downstairs, sides wiped down & rubbish put out.

Sent kiddies upstairs to get dressed but I can hear sounds of Dora floating downstairs

Going to little festival at local pub today really looking forward to it, lots for kids to do and hopefully we can have a glass of wine and some nice BBQ food.

Need to nip to the post office, send off our Wimbledon ballot form and wash out the filter on the vacuum.

    Best get on with it!

Hope Miss Moo has a great party x

I found out about the Priority Service Register through Facebook on Tuesday and registered which is why it appeared on the listy for Wednesday. Today, and I am truly bowled over by this, I've received a free carbon monoxide alarm from Wales and West Utilities, with installation instructions, which is basically just about positioning it for maximum effectiveness.

I'm seriously impressed with the service. I realise not everyone will be in the Wales and West area, but whatever your area, I hope everyone who has eligble people in their household registers. It's free and it's like all these things - we don't know we need the service until there's a problem. The last time I was in that situation was when I was looking after my elderly parents who were both very ill and we were without a phoneline for 11 days. Horrendous.

Yes Valli, one, who Piggers dealt with beautifully, but also several first time visitors who stopped by to comment with kindly comments. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the listy so thanks for the opportunity.

Welcome back Frodders! Yes, I'm keeping an eye on your poppies. The Wave is in Plymouth, on the north side of the Naval War Memorial. Thus far on their national tour this is the only place where the poppies and the Commonwealth War Grave Commission are in partnership so I'm actually volunteering for the CWGC, not the poppies themselves, which is the actual attraction. I get to look at them and keep my bit of them safe for three hours a week until 19th November when they move on. (Remembrance Day will be very special this year.) We went up there last night as it's lit overnight and there was quite a crowd at 11.30 pm which was lovely, and it was confirmed yesterday that a bugler will sound The Last Post at sunset on 1 September. I think they want to make that a weekly event, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

It's been a really busy week and it's not letting up any time soon. Our pear tree started to lean really badly this week so it's been staked but it then leaned even more, so I've stripped all the lower branches and shared out the spoils with the neighbours. It means I'm now going to have to make chutney for days and days and days. I've given away mountains of last year's supplies but we still haven't finished that yet, so goodness knows how many jars we'll have by the time we've harvested the rest from the top of the tree today.

I'm off to rattle a preserving pan and polish the Gardens Challenge Croquet cup which we won last year and the annual match is tomorrow.

Dusting is going to have to wait. What a pity.
