What gets ironed?

I am trying to get myself back on track, I've become more slovenly over time , and ironing is on my hit list! Until now the only time I used to use an iron is when we are going to a wedding or a funeral
Apart from clothes what else do you iron?
I've just done my clean bedsheets for the first time in my life. DH came in to ask me something then got halfway down the hall before slowly coming back in and saying "What are you doing?" :rotfl:
I've done the tea towels too. Not sure I can be bothered with the flannels or cleaning cloths, do people iron those? Also with things like bedding and tablecloths, do I do them straight off the line before they go in the cupboard, or just before using? And can someone please tell me how to iron a fitted sheet as it keeps curling up on the ironing board

Bedding and tea towels, good god no. Life is way too short and most bedding nowadays isn't like the old heavy cotton stuff that used to really crease up. Why iron fitted sheets, when the creases get pulled out the minute you put them on the bed??
Tablecloths yes because I only use them when people come round.
TBH, I don't iron half of my clothes as the creases seem to drop out as soon as I put them on - it's mainly shirts and things I've left in the washing machine too long before shaking out and hanging up. I'm !!!!!!ed if I'm going to start ironing things that nobody sees or cares about. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Lol Elsien that's how I've always felt about ironing! This bedding though is the heavy lovely stuff and looked awful straight off the line. Now I've ironed it and am lying on it, I feel like I'm in a hotel!0

On the very rare occasions I iron anything (when not sewing) it gets done straight out of the washing machine - the iron dries them. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Whispers. I also don't iron teatowels because all my washing up sits on the drainer till it's dry. Or till I can be arsed putting it away. So I don't actually use them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

As little as I can get away with

Some clothes need ironing, some not I judge as I go. I don't iron bed sheets as tend to wash these together and put away straight after. Having said that I like the feel of ironed bed sheets so perhaps should start.
I do always iron tea towel and my sons socks
reason - tea towels - a friend who works in hospital said to as if someone cuts themselves badly most people will grab a tea towel, if it has been ironed it should be germ free. Socks - started when son had a verruca the pharmacist suggested to iron his socks as it killed the virus to help stop the spread of them.0 -

They have other uses, mine don't get used for drying dishes either
I use them for handling hot dishes/saucepan handles and drying hands etc. Plus its nice to see one hanging up in the kitchen I don't want visitors to know I don't use one for what they are intended

OP- Why create more work for yourself? If it doesn't need ironing, don't iron it.
Me ~ I iron nothing, nada, zilch
and that ain't changing ever

I couldn't put stuff away in my tidy cupboards without them being ironed. Even though I am rubbish at it at least it looks presentable. All that clutter used to be money0
