Not having a shower actually might bother me...not because I like them but because lots of houses are now being changed to water meter's when sold if they are not already on one.

I don't particularly like a shower, much prefer a bath any day but there may come a point in life where needs must to save on water

It's something you can't do anything about, but stairs in the living room would put me off. ( A work colleague moved because the family did not like the open staircase, as the room felt less cosy.)

Another point about the stairs is that they are uncarpeted so a possible danger to young children and those not sure footed.

When selling houses and holiday caravans, the sales people dress them to suggest a lifestyle, so a couple of shaggy rugs would add the cosy factor.

Trim the hedge at the front, as it's scruffy and will remind buyers that there will be a regular job to be done there.

Why is the front all gravelled, as it looks very bare compared to the fronts with laws, though a few doors down need to mow their meadow ? (Some synthetic grass, that you can take with you may help, some types are very realistic.)

We literally just removed the rug because of feedback on here lol.

It's laid to gravel because thats how it was when we moved here and we don't really spend any time in the front garden so its just been left as-is as it's low maintenance.

The house that needs to mow its lawn has just been sold so hopefully the new buyers will move in soon and sort that as it is an eyesore. They had to move out quickly for medical reasons so haven't been there in a few months.

Am not too fussed about the staircase, Every house in the street has the same one and I think only one or two have carpets on them, Theres no carpet in the entire house so I think it would be a bit strange to carpet the stairs on their own.

The council maintain the hedge/update the plants if any die out etc every couple weeks, and cut the grass to the side of the house (which is strange as its not council grass, and they know it isn't). Its fine being a little overgrown though, as it covers the wall so that kids don't walk along it when playing etc, but they neaten it up when they come over.

    There isn't a huge difference;
According to the study, the average eight-minute shower used 62 litres of hot water, and some power showers can use up to 136 litres, compared with an average bath's 80 litres. These findings have been widely reported - in the Daily Mail, The Independent and the BBC, among others.

Yes its pretty much southernly facing so we get the sun the majority of the day out back. We take advantage of this by growing various fruits and veg in pots.

Blimey 8 mins in the shower......

that seems quite a long time to me to keep the water running...but I guess that's a debate for another day and another thread.

I've been looking on RM...it's a very stagnant area at the moment isn't it....I would say that nothing seems to be shifting around you and to see things listed from the beginning of the year is something that you don't often see.
I have to say I'm not even convinced that better photos are the key,nor indeed a further price cut.
I'm actually surprised Estate agents are still in business around you!

I guess it's just a case of waiting for the buyer or for the market to pick up more...hard to do I know but there is only so much you can improve your kitchen/bathroom/rejuggle furniture etc and if the buyers are not out there theres little point investing huge amounts into doing it for the time being.

Are you getting viewings and if so at what rate and any feedback......?

The rug won't make much difference either way, it was the dining table, the coffee table and the footstool that were the problem, looks loads better and bigger without them.

Were you able to fit the dining table into the kitchen without it looking too cramped? If you were, definitely get a picture of that.

    Keep that footstool well away!

The best pictures of the lounge are the first and the third. They make it look lighter and more spacious. You don't need a picture of the TV. ;)
each to their own. It's not a picture of the TV, it's a picture of the fireplace which (perhaps before your time?) was always regarded as the focal point of a room and everything else would be arranged around it, not a TV.

The fireplace should surely serve as a decorative feature, and a nice to have one at that rather than a "vast" blank wall that you can't do anything with because of the room size and stairwell geometry

Yes, thats now in there. The picture of it isn't great because on that side of the kitchen is literally just a wall, a clock and it gets the fridge in the frame. with a boiler to the side which I've tried to keep out of the image.
