hmm I've never done an empty cycle0

I've just done mine this evening , cleaned and scrubbed the drawer out in the sink with a toothbrush and the same inside the space where the drawer goes although this bit was hard to get to so had to just do my best.
Thanks for the tips in the thread Charis:T I'll do a hot wash in the morning to see if that helps too .Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Since I've been putting the powder or liquid directly into the drum, and using vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, I haven't had this problem.
I use soda crystals and vinegar for my cleaning cycle, and although techincally it's supposed to be an empty 90 degree wash, I do put my cleaning cloths in there, as they don't fill the machine up. I put a spoonful of soda crystals in the drawer to clean/disinfect it, a spoonful in the drum, and the vinegar in the fabric conditioner section. It's always nice and clean now0 -
I leave the draw pulled out after each wash so it dries and doesn't provide a damp environment for the mould to grow.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

The inside of my washing machine detergent dispenser is all black and mouldy.
How do I get it clean again?Cat :wave:0 -
Take it out and give a good going-over with a scourer and some detergent. Then, investigate what's causing it. My money's on fabric conditioner.0

Or my mum uses white vinegar which has been slightly heated up and a sponge. Pour boiling water down first (to kill the mould) then clean using the warm white vinegar with an old toothbrush and a cloth.
The best thing to do to prevent it is to keep the drawer slightly open to keep air flowing around.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

And you'll also need to clean around the area within the washing machine where the dispenser normally fits as this will probably have black gunge on it too.0

You can usually remove them by depressing a catch underneath the draw, where the draw meets the machine (when the drawer is pulled out).
Then put the draw in a bucket of bleachy water, leave, then scrub.
Wipe round the inside of where the drawer inserts, as far as you can, with the bleachy water.
In future, when you empty the machine of washing, leave the door and drawer open for a couple of hours to dry through. That should stop it happening again.0
