Thankyou ladies,I knew you would'nt let me down.I now have my machine running smoothly again.I managed to get the drawer out and there was a solid lump of fabric conditioner underneath where the holes for it to come out of was.I've given it all a good scrub and ran it through with boiling water,it seems to be running freely from the outlet now. Thanks again.0

Hi Mrstittlemouse,
I'm glad you got it sorted out. As there's an earlier thread on cleaning a washing machine drawer I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

after having inherited an old washing machine - in good working order, i opended the powder drawer -
it is black, mouldy etc, and stinks to high heaven. I have it in the kitchen sink at the mo, and am trying to figure out how to clean it, as hot water etc not really shifting the stubbon bits (sorry, mind has completely gone blank on how to spell stubbon!!!)
any ideas? I have the white vinegar ready and waiting for the actual drum, but cant do that till i get the drawer back in lol!0 -
Domestos 'Grot Buster'. Bascially a gel like uber bleach.
And it's on offer for £1 at most supermarkets. :>0 -
Hi,
How about a soak in bleach, then put the washing machine through a hot cycle with a handful of washing soda in the drum - cleans the pipes and drum brill.0 -
We soak the drawer in bleach overnight and then OH scrubs it with a toothbrush (as well as the hole it goes back into as that it usually manky too).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

By far the easiest thing to do is chuck it in the top shelf of your dishwasher (gunk face down) with your next wash. Sometimes the fascia of the drawer can be removed, so clip it off before you put it in the dishwasher, that way you'll save any printing on it from wearing off.0

Stubborn
I'd take out the drawer, wash it using an old toothbrush to scrub out the gunky bits, then soak in bleach overnight.
We have an older thread on just this subject, so I'll add this one to keep ideas together.

thanks - i knew my version didnt look right!!
has been soaking all day now, so will wait till little one falls asleep, and then get scrubbing with the toothbrush. Then another soak overnight in bleach.
now a dilemma - i have one full large bottle of comfort, which i bought when i had some coupons before - do i use it and risk gunking up the drawer again, or shall i just switch to the HM version, which i love the sound of!0
