You get clowns in all sorts of cars, ive had div's in corsa's and fiesta cut me up and boys racers handbrake turns at silly o clock in the morning

There's nowt wrong with hp/pcp as long as one can afford the payments, i bought my astra as a used approved car on finance as it was better for me from a cashflow point of view so i could keep my money invested for longer instead of having it stuck in a car on my drive

Ive had an audi in the past didnt like it at all, much preferred my bmw coupe but needed more space hence the astra estate auto

you get clowns in all sorts, its part of life
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

You sound off like the victim, but sounds more like a slanging match to me for which you was equally complicit to!! So jump down from your horse

    Thanks.

Not playing the victim and certainty no high horses here. However I didn't swear, offer up a fight or generally try to intimidate anyone.

I do believe however im allow to vent my frustration about someone in my own vehicle.

No but you did institute the war of words and continue to antagonise

I did and don't deny that. However that was in my car with the windows closed. I'm sure we've all expressed a few words when someones driven like a prat.

Antagonise? I disagree. Just because I didn't rise to the bait and he got frustrated isn't my problem.
  • Would never dream of getting involved in anything like that. Value my freedom and career too much.
Nowadays, that is exactly the right attitude to take.
For a start, the other driver could:
    a. Be high on drugs or drink,
    b. Have a weapon of some sort,
    c. Be friends with or be a member of the same masonic lodge as the local police chief.

Even if none of the above were to be the case, if a punch up did ensue and there were no witnesses to back up your side of what happened, it's possible that should the police decide to investigate then you might be considered partially (or even fully to blame) for simply getting out of your vehicle and the other driver might claim that you threw the first punch.

It's easy to claim that someone "bottled it" but if it came down to me laughing it off and staying in my car or risking a criminal charge, something that would guarantee I would lose my job, I know which option I would take.

There are blokes out there who live for a bit of toe-to-toe and they'll use their driving as way to manufacture conflict situations. It's a win-win as far a they're concerned: either they get to punch someone out or they get the satisfaction of having intimidated the other party into backing down. Unless you are someone who can confidently defend yourself it's got to be best to avoid the physical confrontation.

Maybe I'm not understanding your OP correctly, but I'm curious as to why having started to pull out you didn't just carry on if the other car that was behind you was in the same lane as you to start with, why pull back in?
