I see you're budgeting in euros - where are you living at the moment? Somewhere exotic I hope?!?

:rotfl: Luxembourg! I feel like everything is so much more expensive over here :(

  • How lovely! Yep, I bet things, and food, are pricey there. We used to live in Spain and visit for a month every year and we've really noticed the price of food has crept up significantly over the last 10 year. But I guess it's the same in the UK too.

Hi, all. I'm back going for £70 a week lowering due to changes. Not been on since February, I think.

Budget includes everything except alcohol for 5 adults really, one teenager.

Good luck all. I'll officially join on the 26th August weekend. Need to save money.
  • Could I please join this challenge? I'm a recent university graduate who has just moved into my first house and finally have a kitchen to call my own. It's just me in the house (although my boyfriend will be coming to stay a couple of times a week), and I want to meal prep and take all of my lunches into work. I'm going to aim for a monthly spend of £160 this month, although I hope to eventually go down to £120.

I eat a low carb diet and ended up bulk buying the pea and lentil pasta that aldi has as a special buy at the moment. 24 boxes for £40.50. I'm hoping that this will last me about half a year. Does anyone have any tips of how to factor this into my budget? Should I deduct it all from September's budget or just lessen my monthly budget slightly for the next six months?

    Thank you.

Could I join this month please? Our budget is a bit of an odd amount but worked out to hopefully be manageable. £434.00 This is for 4 adults and the pets (tortoise and dog) for all food/ drinks (excluding alcohol) toiletries and cleaning products. Our month starts on the 27th and runs to the 26th September.

Some people have two budgets - a monthly budget and a "bulk buy" budget. Sounds like that might fit with what you want to do?

Can I go for £100 again please?

Hi can I please join this challenge again. I have had a few months off for various reasons but as Autumn approaches I am embracing my inner squirrel and feel the need to stock up on some home made meals for the freezers. I have been wasting a lot of money on takeaways so I would much rather spend money on lovely ingredients and make something that will taste nice and be much better for all of us.

I am setting September's budget at £550 as it is a 5 week month. This will include all petfood and cleaning products. We are a family of 2 adults, 3 teenagers, a labrador and a cat. We all have big appetites but I am trying to lose weight :o.

I will be perusing the recipes at the start of this thread for inspiration. They are a fantastic resource so thanks to all the contributors and organisers :A.

I will be setting September's figure for £360 again. I will have more of an idea of actual monthly spends at the end of the month then and hoping to start reducing it in October so that it's down to £300, eventually.

This includes food, drinks, cleaning products and meat for the dogs :)
