Used car from dealer fault advice please!

Legally I was entitled to flight delay compensation, no matter how many quotes of the law I gave them they still refused. I had to go to court, like many others, so If the problem can be easily fixed they OP has to ask themselves are they prepared for the hassle if the dealer doesn't play ball
OP the choice is entirely yours but be aware you have the law on your side and as others have said your case is pretty clear cut.0 -
Drop the car off now and say you reject it. The manager can look at it Monday if he or she wants. Then start CC if necessary.
Act fast and firm or you are going to be sorry in the long run. I dont know about the car but I can tell when I am dealing with someone dishonest.0 -

That all well and good if they agree, im asking practically, Yes the law is on the OP side etc but only if they are willing and able to take it the full way, Which could end up being without a car or the money for quite some time0 -

so the car was fine during the pre purchase inspection and test drive and all these problems occurred in pre delivery preparation?0

That's not the equivalent comparison. The law regarding goods doesn't talk about circumstances that are outside the seller's control, so there isn't the same grey area that there is in relation to EU261 regulations.
The law is quite specific, and can be enforced.0 -
Is the dealer a sole trader, partnership, limited company? If you issue proceedings and win, how easy is it to get any money from them? They might just dissolve the company and start a new one.0

Say that he wants his money back according to his legal rights. Why should he just cave in when the rights are on his side?0
