    I got 100! :T
I did not use a calculator but needed pen and paper for 5 questions!

There was one poorly worded question which took a while to work out and as with all maths tests they try to catch you out!

On another point being out of work you need to be able to complete numeracy tests to get invited to some interviews so this is all helpful!

    Yay, 100, first time :D
I agree, some questions worded very oddly.

I got 88 out of 100, So proud of myself and did not use a calculator....
  • I got 95 - only one I didn't do as it was confusing. Interestingly reading the threads I think the questions may be varied across the population because I didn't get the mortgage question or one of the others so there may be a whole load of random ones out there still to be done!

It looks like you are adding the 20% to the £899 to get the Vat, the £899 includes Vat so I the net price is £749.18 + 20% which is £149.84 vat

I got 97% but when it showed my wrong answers I had actually chosen the correct answer in all but one question (the wheels of the bike.. Silly me was thinking circumference). Good fun tho.
  • Hi yer, the amount you have as V.A.T. Is 20% of 899 not 20% added to the cost before V.A.T.
    The cost of the item is 749.17 + 20% = 899
    Using your method 899 - 20% which is 179.8
    off 899 = 719.2
If the item before V.A.T. was 719.2 the total cost would be 863.04.
I hope this helps, I'm sorry if my explaination isn't clear.
  • you can't just take 20% off a price that includes vat to get the net price or you will be taking 20% off the vat as well
