Hey up, 'Tis me in other form. Have to go back to Newbie status as lost my password and dumb me also got rid of old email so hey ho. Regarding wedding costs-two pints of lager and a packet of crisps! Packet of crisps is the cheaper option, so would go with that :D

same thing happened to me hence the reason why i have not been online at all ...

hopefully i will keep my sign in details this time,

things have been pottering on a casa del El

I have started my new job, it is a very specialised area of my new career, it is interesting but it will take me atleast 2 years to become a trained person in it, so i have a lot to learn, its quite emotionaly physically and mentally stressful but exciting at the same time.

Mr El has developed a lot of chest pain, so potters about with a GTN spray now, he doesn't take it when he should and doesn't listen to his wife ( and to those of you who know me and my new job will find the irony in that rather funny). He has also found a new passion in Kayaking and is spending money on boats and gear like it is going out of fashion, but it is good he has a passion so i am encouraging it where i can.

Money wise we will be mortgage free this year, we owe less than £1k now on the mortgage, we have been saving money every month for retirement, but we have been spending on the credit card money that we don't have, the over drafts are as high as they can go ( boats etc... giving son a loan of money as well) and we have a holiday in July booked and a break away in the caravan booked so as normal even though we are getting out of debt and we are saving into a S&S ISA we dont have anymoney just hanging about ... but we will get there ... now to try and play catch up with everyone

    hope you are all ok

Hi El - congrats on the new job! :j

Kayaking sounds like fun, I'd love to try sea kayaking before I get too old to enjoy it :)

Thanks Ed ... it is more money and the opportunity to earn overtime, although I will admit I am avoiding that at present as I am finding I need my days off just now, hope you and yours are all doing well ?

    Thanks for the recommendation x

Hello El, what a lot's going on for you! Sorry to hear about Mr El's problems, but correct medication is good, its true.

The job sounds intense - but you like it, yes? Thats got to be good. And you're going to be mortgage free, but with debts? Cool :)

hey KC yeah I quite like the new job, it's a lot to learn but I will get there ... eventually

yep mortgage free but with an overdraft and some credit card debt .. it will come down though

we also have some small savings so it's not all bad

well up early for a 12.5 hour shift had my breakfast and now getting ready to go

did i mention weight loss ?

with my new job there became an urgency to loose weight, so I have been working at it, admittedly recently it hasn't been going well either but I think I do experience SAD, I noticed it when I worked in my last job, it's not been as bad this year but I do notice around February I get quite down and NEED the sun, I've noticed that an have a knock on effect in my eating and exercising, so far today it's been a good day ( ok I'm just up but hey it's a start)

    have a wonderful day everyone
  • Morning Elanten, great to hear you’re so close to being MF. Sorry to read about Mr Elanten and fingers crossed he’s ok.

Re weight loss, I have found the easiest thing to do was reduce carbs - has had a huge impact to overall health :T

    Sending best wishes, Tilly xxx

I also miss the sun - isn't it nice that sunrise is actually happening at a sensible hour again? :)
