what help would she be entitled to?

This isn't a spur of the moment thing and its not just being disrectful, its refusing to pay dig money or the £100's she borrowed whilst out partying or taking stuff that doesn't belong to her and the absolute tip of a room where she has ruined the carpet and all the furniture. And when we pull her up on it you get told shut it, she stayed at her grans for a while but even her gran said she was terrible, so its time for some tough love. We will help her as much as we can provided she is willinv to try herself.0

How is helping towards deposits and furnishing 'tough love' exactly?0 -
How is helping towards deposits and furnishing 'tough love' exactly?
I would assume no longer would there be a fridge full of food, no more washing powder/washing done for her, LL/housemates would expect her to clean and not leave her room in a state. No one to shout at when things don't go her way etc.0 -
as much as I would like to let her fend for herself I'm not totally heartless and I still want her to succeed in life so we will help her settle in so she doesn't start off in debt and then we try and guide her from there. How is helping towards deposits and furnishing 'tough love' exactly?0 -
Well, she could always get a job so she can pay for somewhere to live. And there are about 1million working people in receipt of (some) housing benefit, so may still be entitled to HB if working.what help would she be entitled to?.
But beware, Mother T has changed the rules for HB for 18-21yr olds, she might get nothing...

If you formally evicted her she would be entitled to social housing however this would probably be a B&B for a long period of time as she doesn't have any dependents, disabilities etc.
This could be a shock to the system to get her behaviour in order though?0 -

Sounds like she needs one of those short stints in a prison, you know to show her where her life is going if she doesn't change.
If she refuses you any money, can't see her actually paying her rent can you? As a student I don't think she will qualify for any benefits.Student nurse 2018 to 2020

If I was a LL I'd be very worried about her trashing the property & not paying rent. And when we pull her up on it you get told shut it
Her attitude stinks. She sounds very immature & throws her toys out of her pram at the slightest thing. Clearly has no respect.
I wouldn't want her as a tenant, she sounds like a nightmare."The truth is of course is that there is no journey.
We are arriving and departing all at the same time."0 -
Depending on the course you need to work on the course for a set number of hours a week outside of the classroom if you are also spending 40 hours a week working you cannot also participate in full time education.
Please. This is a lazy persons attitude. I trained as a nurse so genuine full time hours in uni and on placement as well as working as a carer to pay the bills. You do what you have to do to keep a roof over your head. Not use excuses like yours
OP you're better off asking this on the benefits board.0
