  • I think one month's mortgage/rent sounds good, or internet costs again to see if we can beat this years? I only started in June this year when my internet is £10 a month, from December it's going to be £17 a month as I've upgraded to the bigger package so internet for next year is £204.

    Hi Compers :hello: ,

I wonder if you can give me some advise? I received a wem 07/09 from Computeractive to say I had won F-Secure Internet Security 2007. I replied back the same day as requested with my contact & delivery details.

I forgot about it for a while as some prizes take ages to come (Im still waiting for my Shrek Ball  ). I then sent them a polite reminder on 19/11. Having not heard anything I then phoned the contact number from the wem on 03/12 and she denied ever sending me the email and that the prize had already been sent out a long time ago. I forwarded her a copy of her orig wem and then she was deneing she had received it!? The next day she sent me a totally confusing email, 1st saying that she still hadn't received my confirmation emails ...Even though it was actually attached to her email that she forwarded to me!!! . and then says ''The only thing I can do for you is to try to sort out a new inhouse prize for you since I will not be able to offer you this F-secure software unless can find your old confirmation email. (Why would she do that if she didn't think I had won?)

I responded ''Regarding an alternative prize, I guess it would depend on what it was?

I received this today from her ''I can offer you the last three issues of Computeractive on CD-Rom and a few copies of the Computeractive Ultimate Guide to publications. I am sorry that there has been some kind of error a long the line but I never received your details and after one email and two reminders I have to pick a new winners and I suspect that this is the case. I don't know why I didn't receive your confirmation but since I never did I had to give the prize to someone else.

HELP ...I don't know whether to phone her or email her, and where I stand officially on prizes not recieved.

Sorry for the long and boring saga, but any assistance would be most grateful.

I was wondering if anyone's heard anything from the Kinder Bueno competition. According to their terms and conditions winners would be contacted within 72 hours of the competition closing at midnight on the 4th of December. By my reckoning that's just a couple of hours away now and I've not heard anything even though my picture was in the top 10 on the evening of the 4th - it dropped down later but I reckon I'd still have been in the top 100.

As far as I know, the WEMs have been sent out, but no prizes as yet - hope that helps.

I think the main improvements that could be made on this forum are, to find a searchable date format; if comps are local for the area to be posted in the thread title; and for the search function to be able to pick up posts that we haven't thanked.

Can I ask how you know that?

I know a couple of other MSEs had pictures in the top 10, but I've not seen anyone post in the I Won forum. For a comp with that many prizes I'd have expected to have seen quite a few.

I know someone who won a couple of weeks back, I think they got an email a day or so after winning, but by the sound of it there's still hope for you if it only closed a few days ago.

    Good luck anyway Soozy!

I started comping late in the year so didnt enter the challenge - that said I did win back my internet costs. I would go with a months rent/morgage
    Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000
    2018 total £4062/2017 total £2260/ 2016 total £2025/ 2015 total £3809.
  • I think a lot of people have easily passed the target of a months mortgage/rent too this year.
Personally I still live with my parents so don't have a mortgage/rent to pay so I'm going to set myself a target value. I've won over £5k in prizes this year so will aim to win over £7500 in 2008. :D
  • I've been using Roboform but htere are some things that are driving me crazy, if the address is to go in one box, it puts my number on line one, then the street on line two, and i don't know if I should alter this each time or whether it will be accepted.

In addition, quite often it doesn't recognise home phone versus daytime phone so I have to type that in manually.

Are there different automatic form fillers which are better or is roboform the best one?

    Thanks

    Kirsteen
