Great idea. It would be lovely to hear what winning tiebreakers were too for those of us like me who are limited in their creativity skills!

  • Hi everyone, I only recently joined the forum and started comping.

I entered some comp on the myoffers website, to win a trip to New York, and I got a call today...nope unfortunately didnt win, but I did win a European holiday for 4 and ALL I need to do is attend an exhibition somewhere in London for 3 hours, and pay a £29 admin fee.

Now has anyone been conned into a similar thing, or attended one of these things. I really have no intention of buying any holiday home or timeshare, so it would be just a case of going their, totally disinterested and waiting for the prize, but i have nightmares of That South Park Episode "AssPen"

    Advice appreciated?

I see that some people are making money doing competitions etc.

I have thought for a long time I would like to get into doing that but where do I start and does anyone fancy sharing their tips with me please

Are there any competition websites to get me started or is it a case of trawling through magazines etc ?

    Cheers all

I used to use my offers https://www.myoffers.co.uk
Its good, but in the old days the competitions were just for some market research. These days a lot seem to be "we will call you after the compo for extra information" or "by filling in competition you agree to receive information via email/phone/text etc". Next even sent me a catalougue after I used one of the compos and then charged me £3.50 for it!

So my advice is to read the terms and conditions of the competition first before participating.

Dont think you can make a living out of it though!
