Some people do enter competitions and sell the prizes to make money. I only enter competitions that I really want to win and tend to go for tiebrakers as you have more chance of winning. In the last 7 years I have won Family skiing holiday to Italy, my Wedding in Las Vegas plus £500 spending money, two mini cruises. Another holiday earlier this year to Las Vegas again. Plus lots of other really good prizes including £300 sports vouchers and a top of the range Digital camera which I gave to my daughter as part of her 16th birthday present. So you can certainly save a lot of money entering competitions and its great fun. For me its an enjoyable way to pass time and be creative coming up with winning tiebrakers. I'm aiming for the Hat Trick as I would love to go back to Las Vegas. So watch this space, lol

This place is the only place that you ever need to be :D I've not been here that long (not quite 9 months) and have won over £2,000 worth of stuff - my biggie being a fly-drive to Hawaii :j

Some people seem to win quite a few things and others not much.... out of interest, on average how many competitions do you enter per day/week/month compared to how many that you actual win?

I think my win rate was something like 0.25%, haven't done any for a few weeks but was doing 100-150 a day, pretty much all the competitions on this site.

Might start again soon but be more selective on which I enter :p

It's sometimes difficult to remember which comps you've already entered. Loquax have a brilliant new tracker system which helps you to remember which comps you've already done. Starting at the beginning of December there are loads of daily entry Advent comps, giving much more chance of success.

    Good luck
  • Use Google's site search instead by putting site:forums.moneysavingexpert.com (or site:www.moneysavingexpert.com to search the main site) in the search box and then the rest of the search words or phrase.
