Can I ask a stupid question -
I'm new to this website and have entered a lot of competitions, but do you tend to enter them more than once? Only coz everyone seems to be winning so many amazing things I wondered how they did it!!?0 -

it's not a stupid question I think it depends on what type of person you are.
most of the comps are 1 entry per person if you enter more than once your entry will be disqualified
some people enter for everyone in their street
i
only ever enter once for myself if it's a general competiton.
my wife for gender specific comps and childrens comps i only enter either one son/daughter depending on the prize.
the only ones i enter more than once are the daily text or kudoos style instant win comp
i'm not here to enter tom !!!!!! or harry because thats not the name of the game.
i have doen reasonably well and karma has paid back
probably won over £3000 in prizes since july0 -
Wow, that's a lot of prizes! Ok thanks - I was just worried I might be wasting my time entering everything if everyone else was doing it loads of times!
Thanks for your help!0 -

if you enjoy entering competetions like I do then I don't see it as wasting time.
it's just another hobby just like playing golf or building model airplanes etc etc.
if you have time to sit down and click a few times then go for it.
if you look at the i won thread therea are lots of successful people who have won things and have never won anything in their life0 -
have avon stopped doing their competitions??0

Hi all,
First of all sorry for this non-prize post, however, it is comping related. That's why I thought it would be best suited here.
I noticed that certain travel prizes state the winner needs to have a valik UK passport with an x-amount of months validity after return otherwise the winner loses its right to the prize.
Now I can sort of understand the request of your passport being valid for another few months after return. But why does it have to be a UK passport? I don't get the point. I've got a perfect European passport (German to be precise) that is valid exactly in the same way as a UK one is, so why would I be exempt from entering those comps.
Does anyone know if I could still enter as they just used an unfortunate word choice for describing a UK resident with a valid UK approved/European passport (I can understand they don't want people on a visa here entering a comp as the visa might expire etc) or are they just 'discriminating' (bit of a wrong choice of word I know, but couldn't think of anything else to describe) against non-UK passports?
any experiences, ideas, clues or answers would be greatly appreciated :-)
thanks!Life without string would be chaos.0 -
Hi!
I'm in the same position that you are. I see that line in the T&Cs and I think that it is just a bad choice of words. People here use to say that you need to have a valid UK passport to go somewhere else. For instance, I've booked a holiday with thomson and the girl there said that we needed a valid UK passport to travel. We said that we had a passport but not from the UK and she had to confirm if we could use it. A bit stupid...
Also, they even say that you always need a passport when you actually don't need one to travel in the EU.
I enter the prize draws anyway. I think they won't discriminate me for not having a UK passport (at least, I hope so).
Anyway, there must be someone here who can clarify that to you.Goal: Win a car (or cash to buy one)! -- Haha goal from when I was a student. Never actually won this but got a good job instead.
What I achieved:
Car paid in full straightaway.
Two properties fully paid. Wohhoooo!0
