If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
I think some people do hit the thanks button and also say thanks, this might be to do with the little tick on the competition list (the one that tells you you have posted on that thread) they may think that this is assurance that they have entered that competition.
I have thought about doing this instead of keep clicking on the link and seeing that I have already said thanks meaning I have already entered.
I wonder if it could be put to someone 'on high' that something happens on the index page when you have thanked the poster? This way people may not be so quick to write the thanks.
Absolutely gutted about Paul Walker - RIP xx0 -
Thanks for this angelbreeze, I was going to do something like this myself! I completely lost all patience this morning (normally I wouldn't really say anything) but some people ended up duplicating their entries which is not fair.
Lets hope people read you thread and everything will be as it should.
NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT!

I do understand why some of us get upset, but I think the key is to just sort the competitions by thread START time, it only takes a second and it means you can work through the comps until you get to the last one you entered and not have to worry about whether people have replied or not.
I think it would take a lot of the community spirit out of the board if people felt they couldnt' reply to any threads in case people get upset and had to just post on the couple of stickies.
I personally like the little discussions that go on, and even if someone does want to keep track by posting as well as/or instead of thanking, it doesn't have to screw up your comping time if you just sort first.
If there is a reason why people don't want to do that, I'm quite happy to be corrected, but at the moment I can't see one!

Thanks for this Angel breeze, I also did not have a clue when I first joined and welcomed any sort of advice that was offered, I will admit that I have occasionally thanked people in the post but only cos the thanks button did not appear to be working.0

Thank you and well done - the amount of bumped posts today has been silly, so i really do hope those new (and a few regulars) take note - i dont mind a bit of banter or comment, but a sudden thanks for a comp posted days/weeks ago isnt really necessary!!!0

I am really new to this, but only can see one thanks button and that is the one below each post - is this the one you all use when you have entered a comp, or is this the one we shouldn't use - and if so where's the right one.
Don't want to upset everyone 'cos this looks like fun so HELP!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
