Have shuffled a bit of money into the 6monthfund and hopefully going to pop some more in later on tonight when I can find the bank card! Spent Xmas vouchers on books I've been wanting to read, crafting stuff and some clothes that I've been watching in Next which have gone into their sale. Determined to try and be a bit less black and a bit more colourful in 2020 and to start wearing some of the lovely scarves and jewellery I already own.
Joined up for REDJanuary to get me back into running and also signing up for a free Couch25k run by a friend that should fit into my working week without too much difficulty (fingers crossed). I don't really need any new running gear but might ask for some for my birthday at start of February.
Menu plan has really helped us keep on track with food budget this week so going to re-do it on Monday for the week ahead. Only major spend is around £85 for a new bus pass for the boy but that lasts him up till Easter so it's not too bad.
Planned the week ahead with things I have to do and things I want to do so feel pretty chuffed with a productive day today.:p

Lovely day visiting friends and putting the world to rights. Had a meal out so a bit of a spend but worth it for the time to relax with them all. Menu planning and getting side hustle & house stuff done tomorrow. Might even get time to get my crafty stash sorted out.

Boy's bus pass bought, £85.50 but at least it's done! Found an old ten pound note in a coat pocket so paid that into the bank as well. Finishing up some odds and ends from the freezer for tea so the menu plan and food shop is on hold till tomorrow as I was walking not driving today while the weather is so nice.
Lazy plans for the rest of the day although I do need to get some side hustle stuff finished or I will miss the payroll deadline.

Happy New Debt-busting year! Total debt paid of since I started the thread is now over £15k and there's under £10k left to go, do definitely happy with that.
NSD today as we're not going out of the house apart from hubby going to work for a few hours on double pay - good man.
Food shop done yesterday but got to work out what we're actually going to eat from it yet, made a mental meal plan in my head but it wasn't brilliant tbh and not sure it actually covered all the meals we need.
Going to do the big clean up today as there's not one room in the house tidy enough for my liking at the moment, then some reading and knitting to start off the new year properly.

Still on the big tidy up and declutter, going to need about a million bin bags! NSD apart from new bulbs for bathroom as only two are working.

Back to work, back to a lot less spending! Decluttered Christmas yesterday and got a load of other stuff sorted out too and hubby is taking it to charity shops and tip today. Managed to get lunch made last night, trying to get ahead of myself for a change and everything ready to pack in the car. Been lots of people talking about apps that round up spends from the bank so going to log-in online every day and round down to nearest penny, shuffling the rest over to savings pot. Not sure how much difference it will make but worth giving it a go.

£333 shuffled over to 6monthfund as we've been really frugal so far in January. Hopefully will be able to shuffle a bit more over once I've got paid on 23rd too plus Feb is a no council tax month and I should have about £150 coming in from side hustle job.
Started running again with a good friend encouraging me and I get a bonus two days worth of gym passes so looking forward to using them on weekends. Don't want to pay out for a gym as I've tried in the past and wasted loads of money, but who doesn't love a freebie?

Congratulations on the debt repaid so far - it's even more of an achievement when you take into account saving up your six month fund alongside debt repayments.

All the best for hubby's op - I wish him a speedy recovery.

Meal plan done so we can do a relatively small food shop tomorrow, got ourselves into a routine now which is much better. House is a bit bogging but half an hour of running round should fix it. Off for a run later (although it's cold & the motivation is currently extremely low!) Need to get cash out for the week ahead, have started giving the teen £20 a week so she can get used to budgeting so got to get that out too but hopefully staying under our planned amount so we can shuffle more across to savings.

Aargh kind of day today, hubby talked to a different boss at work today about using up his holidays before his op and she told him to hang on to them as he will only get statutory sick pay. Other boss he spoke to weeks ago told him he'd get full pay. He has no contract, don't think he's ever signed one tbh, and so quite possibly going to be bringing home very little once he's off sick. He has to go and see them tomorrow to get it all sorted out and I've told him to get it all put down in writing. Obviously we will cope with whatever it ends up being but am trying to save up asy contract ends at end of August and job uncertain after that. Feel very meh as a result
