Thanks for the advice - have just ditched Sky and shoved everything on BT, missing our rugby but a lot of it ends up on internet sites anyway. DH is trying to sort his phone today and we've cut mine & DDs but might look at BT family deals.
SOA is nearly done and we are way over insured - we were very cautious when we got married years ago, so that's definitely up for review. Got to call a scrappy to get rid of DHs old car so hoping for a few quid there.

Day not going as planned so far, DH hadn't mentioned that we had to sort car tax out for his car, DD is sick with a tummy bug and just got a fine for being 12 mins over, going to contest it anyway but could do without more hassle.
Off to do a food shop at MrL instead of MrA for a change cos we're getting a bit bored with our regular menu. Not menu planned because I want to see what they've got in the refurbed store.

Weird old day today, waiting for DH's old car to be scrapped and for £180 to come our way for it. Should be delighted cos RAC quoted £60 so that's a huge difference but not feeling the joy today.

DD has gone to help a friend shop for clothes and to cinema, she doesn't need any. Has just texted me to say she got free lucozade at train station and free biscuits at cinema and is aiming to get more on way back.

Reference from work is back and improved from first version which basically says I worked there. New one says what I did and what skills I have. Got to wait for contracts etc to be signed before I can start proper job hunting which is really annoying. Get a payout but not sure what to do with it as we'll need it if I don't get a job fairly quickly.

Got a few things to parcel up as I sold them yesterday but can't do that till car is sorted and gone.....meh

the holding patterns in life where you're raring to go but waiting for things to happen are so frustrating aren't they?
well done for sorting OH's car though it's a really good step.

Thanks Lemon Tree, it's not gone yet but it has been torrential rain most of today so far. Have been knitting more squares and doing some surveys to pass the time.

Remember cash back sites while changing insurances (it hardly ever pays to stay loyal to the same provider)

Slow and steady is sooooooooo hard though, I am very impatient. Going to get some proper financial advice so we don't just make things worse by spending the payout badly.
