I think that's always been a bit hit and miss depending on the sorting office equipment. In theory, they no longer need to be cancelled if the barcode is read and stored, but Special Stamps without barcodes will do so the equipment isn't going to be scrapped any day soon.HomingPigeon said:Has the RM stopped cancelling the stamps now they have barcodes? I've received several Large Letter envelopes in the last few weeks and none of them have any markings whatsoever to show that they have been through the post.I need to think of something new here...0 -

I used to get them cancelled by pen, but not since the introduction of barcodes. OH suggested it's because the posties don't have the time now, to put a line through the stamp.
HJ, are you saying that your barcoded post has the stamp cancelled?0 -
Most of mine is franked now. I don't think I have seen any hand cancelled stamps since Christmas. Most of my weekly mailings from Spectos use stamps that don't get franked or hand cancelled. I guess the posties have given up too. Don't see why they should bother the way their pay negotiations are going.HomingPigeon said:I used to get them cancelled by pen, but not since the introduction of barcodes. Recently, when I have posted parcels or large letters at the post office counter they have used a rubber stamp to stamp across each of the stamps I have used. The stamps were the bar coded type.0 -
They are using a lot of agency staff at the moment and they really don't care.
The same week I had an acknowledgement of my post being dumped in an insecure porch it happened again another 3 times. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I generally find that it’s only the A4 sized envelopes which are not cancelled, the smaller envelopes generally do have some machine marking printed on them. Perhaps their machines don’t cope well with the larger envelopes.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j1

It would seem that not everyone that applied for the 6 week unadd & corr del from 13th has actually got it then. I would have expected the corr del to be showing in the portal this morning if I was doing it.

I don’t think the original email and survey was the actual invite, it was more an expression of interest. If you responded positively to that, then there were actual invitations sent out a few days later - I only received an unaddressed mail invitation but nothing for correctly delivered.molerat said:It would seem that not everyone that applied for the 6 week unadd & corr del from 13th has actually got it then. I'm having trouble logging into the app asked for a password reset. Password they sent not working. I've emailed them but obviously the reply has gone onto the Kantar app portal , which I'm unable to log into. What can I do?0
