Getting a little fed up with the amount of cubes (either single or sacks) that need posting, just posted my second sack since going live in Jan, and received either my 2nd or 3rd single cube.

Also just got on a new schedule two items to post on the same day...one before midday, one after. I foresee one being posted at 11.59 and one at 12.01 because I am not going to the post box twice.

I got a Fee to Pay card last week.  Stuck some stamps on it (I've got lots you know!) and sent it back.  Today - it arrived and it's a test item.  Small White with no stamp.  The details inside suggested it should sa have been franked, so maybe a machine fail and the sender didn't check/notice.

So I've notified Kantar - it's actually a drop-down in the Send Message options and I guess I'll get some stamps back....
Not the same thing, but I've received a test item - machine franked (ie "metered") according to the R label but, given there is a "24/2" handwritten on the envelope flap, I expect this should have been posted last Thursday whereas the franked date is for Friday, 25/2.

We used to be asked to confirm the posted date (franking or RM postmark).  This would allow an easier check that participants were posting on the day they say but that doesn't happen now and the Survey must be relying on the poster giving the correct date even when it is not according to the schedule.  If they don't and say it was posted according to schedule then RM must be "marked down" unless they are relying on the RFIDs being read at the initial sorting office.

I wish I knew more of how RM are being scrutinised.

We used to be asked to confirm the posted date (franking or RM postmark).
I noticed that this cycle.  We also used to note when a stamp came through unfranked.  Maybe RM are less concerned about that?

I guess with franking - it might be going out via a company post room and if the panellist doesn't operate the franking machine themselves, it could have been missed or delayed by another employee.
I need to think of something new here...

And the bar-coded stamps (given they are each meant to be unique) mean being unfranked will not matter so much, if at all.
I did wonder whether, saving on needing a physical machine to cancel the stamp was one reason for the change.

I think they are still planning on cancelling the stamps (well, to the extent that they can be considered to do that already) as I remember reading somewhere that instructions have been issued to make sure that the cancel is only applied to the normal part of the stamp and not the bar code, otherwise it might not be able to be read.

Managed to get in the correctly delivered survey at the 5th time of asking. I always miss the email and it’s taken within minutes usually but 40 mins late it accepted me today

    Got my reply today:
    Kantar said:
Thank you for contacting us. We’re sorry that you have been sent a test item with insufficient postage, and for any inconvenience caused. We can reimburse your postage costs either with 1st Class stamps or reward points. Please confirm which you prefer and we’ll get them sent out to you.

That's good. I've asked for Reward Points and they will be credited in a few weeks.

If this should happen again, please contact us before going to collect the item and we'll send you the cost in stamps upfront. If you stick the stamps to the card left by Royal Mail and put the card back in the post, Royal Mail will redeliver the item to you.
Erm... How do I know it's a test item before I've paid to get it? If it's from someone else entirely - Kantar have just given me £2 for nothing...
I need to think of something new here...

I posted this over on the eBay board but it's relevant here too so thought I might as well copy it here too.

Small change of plan from Royal Mail it would seem - Christmas stamps are now not going to be invalidated and so it is only Machin definitive stamps which will need to be swapped.
How long do I have to use up any non-barcoded stamps I have?

Non-barcoded stamps can be used as postage up until 31 January 2023. If you are able to use them within this time — that's great. If you aren't going to be able to use them up — that's fine too — you can send them in to us and we'll swap them out for barcoded stamps. Our 'Swap Out' scheme will open on 31 March 2022 and you can pick up a 'Swap Out' form from your local Delivery Office's Customer Service Point; print one off our website; or contact Customer Experience and we'll post one out to you. Note:  you don’t need to swap out non-barcoded Christmas stamps — we are still adding a barcode to Christmas stamps, but non-barcoded Christmas stamps will remain valid so can continue to be used after 31 January 2023 and therefore there is no requirement to swap them out.

Originally you said Christmas stamps are being barcoded and non-barcoded Christmas stamps would be invalid as postage after 31 January 2023 — has this changed?

Following our announcement on 1st Feb, and subsequent discussions with key stakeholders, including feedback from our customers, we have removed Christmas stamps from our Swap Out scheme. We are still adding a barcode to Christmas stamps, but non-barcoded Christmas stamps will remain valid so can continue to be used after 31 January 2023 and therefore there is no requirement to swap them out.

I have today received some items to be posted. There is a large sack and two labels PPI and says required documentation and no manifest.   I have received two cubes to be posted and the instructions say they can go into a parcel postal box and that is no issue as I have registered that parcel box.

The  labels on the cubes are 1st class and says postage on account GB.

I do not understand why I have received this mail bag if I can just put them into a parcel box. Any help appreciated. Thanks
    UPDATE.

Received a reply today advising the mail sack was sent in error. I'm sure I can make use of it for something.
