I have loads too and am a bit concerned about posting them to be swapped in case they go missing in the post. They are worth quite a lot of money

I'm also concerned about loss in the system.  My collection is quite valuable Le too.  I suppose sending them a registered Post or Re order Delivery is an option but Qi do ,t see why we should be out of pocket for circumstances which have been forced on us.

it seems we have to wait to discover whether exchanging them in person at a post office will be another option.   My guess is that it won't be.  Most small post office are run by franchisees who may not be able to cope with the admin of it.

Unfortunately Royal Mail have already confirmed that Post Offices won’t be swapping the stamps. It’s possible that delivery offices might but even that seems unlikely given that they refer to forms being able to be obtained from delivery offices but then only to sending the stamps to a free post address to be exchanged. I think lots of people are rightly concerned about what happens when they go missing in the post…

Maybe if everybody as panelists starts putting pressure on Kantar to resolve this issue with Royal Mail it might help influence them.  After all, RM can,t do without  the panelists as they need them to report on performance to meet their statutory obligations with the regulatory authority.

I do not know if you can send a recorded delivery or tracked mail to a freepost address, and then there is just as much of a risk when they return the new ones as that will be normal post. The only safe way would be to send a few at a time, then you have not lost them all.

If you have a lot of stamps I'd be temped to send them off in smaller batches in case some get "lost in the system".

I don't know how long the exchange system is going to last but once we know that I suggest it might be sensible not to rush and send them off for exchange at the first possible date.  A lot of people will be doing this and in my view there,s a much greater chance they will go astray somewhere under the sheer weight of exchanges being made.  Wait a little until the rush and confusion has settled done.

It's not just us - there will be plenty of stamp collectors/dealers who have stocks of stamps that they are using for postage if they can't sell them as collectibles.  Possibly a 3 or 4 figure sum.

A quick Google says you used to be able to pay the Recorded Delivery supplement on top of a Freepost address.   But also that you can't do it with Special Delivery.   @custardy will probably know!

Wondering about the presentation pack stamps?  Hoping it won't affect those as they usually have an actual value on them - I tend to use them as actual stamps most of the time, the high value ones are useful for small parcels.
