Nothing at all to add further to my earlier fortune of 3p but just been to the allotment.......mainly to water but decided to pick loads more brambles. Hate to see them going to waste. Got a cucumber, some red onions, 2 decent sized courgettes and a fair few tomatoes.
Have decided I am going to finally look into this matched betting lark as some of you seem to do very well with it. Can anyone point me in the direction of a bit of reading material for complete novices and I am going to start reading tonight and shall make notes so that I fully "get it"
I worked in IT for a couple of years until I got pregnant with DS and then got made redundant.
Quite a useful skill :rotfl::rotfl: saved me a fortune on laptop repairs.
Mb I would look at odds monkey. Think he explains it is much better.
I need to start doing it more regularly just not got into it as nor enough time. Am so rusty0 -

I didn't know about it either. Just won 2p :rotfl: I hardly ever bother with the surveys on inbox so that's probably why it didn't register when you mentioned it before Aesop.
I'm still lacking in motivation but I did sell my old phone for £70. Got the refund of £10.04 from cancelled contract with EE and another 65p from citizenme

It was long before social media, no comps were on the internet (hardly anyone had a computer in 1992) and it was application by entry form. It was one application per person NOT per household and I entered once for myself and was wanting to enter for OH but in his usual 'helpful' manner he refused point blank:(. It was for a newly-opening supermarket in a town about 20 miles from here and I sent the second entry on behalf of the cat that I had then.
I couldn't believe it a few weeks later when they phoned and asked to speak to her about an exciting prize:eek:. Luckily the cat had a human female name not Fluffy or Cuddles or anything like that:rotfl:. The rules said the prize was 'non transferrable' so I had to pretend I was her.
There was a photoshoot and everything, lots of coverage in the local paper. I just had to hope no-one who knew me saw it. It was a nightmare from start to finish. I don't know how I managed to have the guts to keep up the pretence. People kept referring to me by the cat's name and sometimes I didn't respond straight away. It was bizarre.
It taught me a lesson though and I never did it again although I have sneakily entered comps in OH's name without him knowing. I just thought he'd be willing to accept the prize if he won, he'd never turn down anything that was free;). There was one awkward moment when a car parts chain phoned him to invite him to a prizegiving for the top of the range alloy wheels 'he'd' won and he hadn't a clue what they were on about:rotfl:. Good job I was in the room and could mouth what he needed to say to them.
This made me chuckle :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:£10 a day April - £4/£3002014 £110.92 2015 £3732.30 2016 £1633.66 2017 £2991.70 2018 £3255.40

I won a set of Monster High dolls in a comp in a magazine my step daughter left behind that I entered writing with my left hand :rotfl: I was really relieved I didn't win the top prize which was a tour of the studio :rotfl:
I work in magazines myself and I can't stress enough how few letters and pics they get and how easy it is to win 'star letter' prizes etc. (Not crosswords etc where they are inundated.)
I have worked places where all of us had a posh kitchen item as nobody ever wrote to the letters page so we took turns to do it. At the same magazine a giveaway of 20 pairs of IH tickets only got about 17 applicants. Tips pages invariably get put through one short while they wait for the next batch of post/emails. Your chances of bagging £20 (or whatever they are giving away) are really quite high.
That's very interesting. Might have to have a look at that. Thanks£10 a day April - £4/£3002014 £110.92 2015 £3732.30 2016 £1633.66 2017 £2991.70 2018 £3255.40

the first comp I ever won was when I was 12. I sent in a version of Nena's 99 red balloons, the song lyrics in swahili, to a music magazine. I got a £10 our price music voucher. I bought my very first album with it, Bob Marley Legend. Still have it.
That started me comping. After that I used to enter all the competitions on bbc telextext service.

My brother works in IT which can be very useful and has saved us quite a bit over the years but he isn't always as helpful as he could be and can be very condescending if you don't get what he's talking about.
For matched betting I used bank of bets - they take you through first three offers step by step which I found very helpful. I don't think of myself as a stupid person and I understand the concept easily enough but I know nothing about gambling and I don't have time to research the bets myself so it seemed a good option. After the first 3 you can upgrade for about £16 per month or £90 for the year. I decided to do this too and have gone for the year as it works out cheaper.
If I can help at all KM I am happy to but as I say I'm a complete novice£10 a day April - £4/£3002014 £110.92 2015 £3732.30 2016 £1633.66 2017 £2991.70 2018 £3255.40
