Cbc hope your toothache is better and doesn't need a trip to the dentist

    Thanks, Aesop:A

Sadly, it isn't something that's going to just go away as it's a filling that has partly fallen out. I never found it so I must have swallowed it:eek:. I've had all my fillings since I was a teenager, done at the clinic where all the schoolkids went. They've served me well all these years, never given me any bother before.

Have managed to get an appointment for tomorrow afternoon.I phoned yesterday and it was the first slot they could give me, it was only that quick because someone had just cancelled.

We had a bit of a discussion on here a few days ago when you mentioned dental students for cheap treatment although I have no access to any. I confessed then to being dentist-phobic so I'm already getting myself into a state about going:o. Dread to think what it's going to cost too:eek:.

I won a set of Monster High dolls in a comp in a magazine my step daughter left behind that I entered writing with my left hand :rotfl: I was really relieved I didn't win the top prize which was a tour of the studio :rotfl:

I work in magazines myself and I can't stress enough how few letters and pics they get and how easy it is to win 'star letter' prizes etc. (Not crosswords etc where they are inundated.)

I have worked places where all of us had a posh kitchen item as nobody ever wrote to the letters page so we took turns to do it. At the same magazine a giveaway of 20 pairs of IH tickets only got about 17 applicants. Tips pages invariably get put through one short while they wait for the next batch of post/emails. Your chances of bagging £20 (or whatever they are giving away) are really quite high.

Thanks very much for the tip:A:T. Will definitely try that:j

The first comp I ever won was when I was about 14 and won a 10 shilling postal order from a national newspaper for sending in a letter about my home town's football team. It was worth a lot of money in those days:rotfl:

the first comp I ever won was when I was 12. I sent in a version of Nena's 99 red balloons, the song lyrics in swahili, to a music magazine. I got a £10 our price music voucher. I bought my very first album with it, Bob Marley Legend. Still have it.

That started me comping. After that I used to enter all the competitions on bbc telextext service.

brilliant fillings to have lasted that long.

should be able to get a filling on nhs, so round here cost is under £20 for a filling.

Best wishes on the filing CBC.

I haven't posted for a few days as my laptop has died, so money making has been difficult. Last thing I needed was to buy a new laptop but that's the way it goes sometimes. Off to sulk, not really, it's just the inner child shouting to come out.

Is there no end to your talents Aesop? :o

Nothing at all to add further to my earlier fortune of 3p but just been to the allotment.......mainly to water but decided to pick loads more brambles. Hate to see them going to waste. Got a cucumber, some red onions, 2 decent sized courgettes and a fair few tomatoes.

Have decided I am going to finally look into this matched betting lark as some of you seem to do very well with it. Can anyone point me in the direction of a bit of reading material for complete novices and I am going to start reading tonight and shall make notes so that I fully "get it"

    Hi Aesop
I have been on every self help video on Utube, spent the entire morning on it yesterday but to no avail. It's about 5 years old, HP, i am thinking HP now stands for help please:rotfl:.

I've got to try linking it up to a tablet and see if I can get a start up or way in that way, but need a double ended USB cable which means a hunting trip into the attic, but time is not on my side at the moment, I have a work test tomorrow to revise for and my youngest reaches a significant age milestone tomorrow, which I need to prepare for and take time out and enjoy.

Ah it might naturally be on its way out due to age. Do you know what fault is?
