    Afternoon folks

Congrats on your forth-coming arrival Mike

I've looked at these 'everything you need to make meals' sites before but, even with a discount, they seem a little pricey to me. Also I like to choose my own meat and always eat fish the day I buy it, so would be a bit wary myself. As usual though, it's 'horses for courses' and obviously, judging by the proliferation of such companies, there must be lots of people that are using them. I will look forward to your reports back as to the quality and portion sizes :D

Made a bit of a killing today. Haven't had my hair done since February for various reasons, mainly being that I'm a bit fed-up of finishing up with such bad haircuts locally. I've been saving up to go to Edinburgh, hoping to find a half-decent snipper at the end of this month before we go on our holibobs.

I received a '24 hour - 50% off local deals' from Groupon. Edinburgh counts as 'local' to me, as it's measured by miles away as the crow flies (ie straight over the Firth :rotfl: )rather than by road (twice as far, but I can 'let the train take the strain').

Found a hairdresser near the train station offering a deal. It's wash, cut, conditioning treatment, highlights and blow dry, normally £119  but at £78. So with the 50% offer I snapped it up for £39 :money:

I'll give them a ring shortly and make an appointment. I'm only going to add the 50% to my total though, as I would have spent the original offer price, though not full price.

That's a brilliant saving on your hairdo. Well done:j:T:beer:. It wasn't all that long since I had mine cut really short (with the voucher I won in a raffle) but it grows so quickly and with a definite 'style' rather than just a bog standard trim it's already lost it's shape and is beginning to look a bit messy. Cue for my trusty scissors to make an appearance. at least for the fringe and side bits. I'll leave the back for now, I can't see how bad that looks;)

I'm a bit funny about meat:o. I only ever buy free range chicken which is always a lot more expensive but it's something I'm not prepared to compromise on. We just have it less often instead:(. Also, with red meat, I only buy British. Not necessarily more expensive but not as commonly available as some. I find bacon and gammon are the worst, it all seems to be Danish where I shop. I've read a fair bit about welfare standards, which even in somewhere like Denmark which is a country I otherwise admire greatly, are not on a par with UK ones.

I have just read all 16 pages. Lovely. Found myself sat here smiling at some of the posts - it has inspired me to get going again. I've got my laptop back again, have been without it for about 3 weeks (long story son had to submit dissertation using windows - it ruined the formatting every time he used his mac, but he's done it now and so I have my old windows laptop back). So I've just fired up PA and am checking for any surveys that are available and need to clcik on all the other ones that have come through via email. I just find it too hard to do them on phone screen.
  • Just received £8 from the international postal survey that I do:j

Glad to hear you have your laptop back:j. I felt absolutely lost without mine whether it was lack of internet connection or a fault with the machine itself.

I hope you have better luck with PA than I'm having at the moment. Studies have completely dried up this past few days, for me at least,:(. I rely on PA as after I got to payout level on most of my other survey sites I unsubscribed.

I'm feeling a bit stressed by my extra money making efforts today! I had to take my daughter for a medical appointment and have my 'day job' to do with loads of phone calls etc. What's stressing me out is that a man who bought something off me for £8 contacted me today to ask if I'd sent it. I replied yes and that I had proof of postage and that I had marked as dispatched a week ago. went to the post office to send two more items and got a form to claim for it getting lost in the post. Turns out my daughter has kindly tidied up and thrown my proof of postage away I'm not bothered as it's a small amount. But the buyer has been messaging and messaging me, ignoring the fact I have explained what has happened, saying 'U pales sand phone' - I have explained I have refunded him now, having asked him to check with his neighbours. Turns out mine was the first item bought from his eBay account - he sent maybe four messages saying he didn't understand what I meant by refund and when was I sending the money! I said to him please don't message again now I have explained so many times and have put him on my blocked buyers list.

Can't help thinking I've been ripped off. You live and learn. I also have 2 non payers on eBay.

Have sold a blouse for £3 on Facebook and some cups - I expected them both to shift at the car boot sale yesterday.

Am out on a mystery shop!

Then I must get on with some work

I hope you're having a calmer Monday than me xx

PLEASE CONTACT EBAY. AND report what this man sent by message to you and how you had proof of posting. They can check if he has bought anything else and done the same to other sellers. if he has they will refund you and remove him from ebay.

Great results CBC with your carboot and Mrs Cautious sorry to read of your ebay woes, some people!

A few ebay sales of £11 and bank interest of £7.29 thru stoozing.

Like CBC, PA has been very quiet, not had a survey for a week, only pre-screening questions. As I had cut back on a lot of survey sites this was my reliable earner, will look at Aesop's list of different ways to earn

cc1 £1900/£3800 to pay by feb 25 Paid in full
    cc2 £0/£1407.00

    365 Day 1p Challenge 2025 #18 £40.00 667.95

    Saving for Christmas 2025 - £1 a day #11 £62.00/£365
