Talking of stamps reminds me that I've a shoebox full of old postcards, many from the early 1900s. They've all been used and sent through the post and there are some nice stamps and postmarks on them. The stamps are probably more valuable and interesting to buyers than the picture side of the postcard.

Must really get myself organised to get these sold but each one takes ages as I need to do clear scans of both sides as well as doing a fair bit of research on the value of the card itself and the stamp. Plus, I love reading the messages on the back. It's surprising how much time I can [STRIKE]waste[/STRIKE] spend on these:o

I sold a lot individually on eBay and then a boxful to a card dealer for a decent price. I kept a lot back for all sorts of reasons fully intending to research them more fully and get them sold. They are nice and easy as well as cheap to post when sold individually:j

I've also got 4 books on identifying postcards, values etc. They were very expensive to buy even though I bought them secondhand so if I ever get all my cards researched and sold I can go on and sell the books too:T. Given that I'm in need of as much money as I can get to repay my debts I don't know why I can get motivated to make more effort with these cards:o.

oh I remember you telling us about this before. We wondered what happened to them. I bet they are fascinating to read.

hey I lack the desire and motivation to [STRIKE]get rid of my junk[/STRIKE] sell my treasures, despite being threatened by DH. I know how you feel.

Ooh - that's good to know. All mine are up to date at the moment, but I have had a few that took a couple of weeks. I am hoping mine will clear next week so I can cash out.

    £6 Pinecone surveys.

Pinecone surveys are good as you occasionally get to test items, which means not only do you get the item but you get follow up surveys which earn you more money. Highly recommend.

So I'm back from holiday, and determined to start my challenge to get debt-free!

I've registered for a ton of things tonight, and have 100+ DVD's which I will attempt to sell tomorrow. MusicMagpie appears to be the best price, but at between 10p-20p per DVD, I'll be lucky to get £10-15 from them. I may try sticking them on Facebook/Ebay first for 30p each and see if I can't double the amount that MM are offering.

My £100 for August starts tomorrow. Looks difficult, but I'll give it a shot!

Do you have a CEX shop nearby, might be worth a look on their website to see what they would pay you, they give two prices one for cash and one (slighter higher) to spend in their store

Feeling quite proud of todays achievements, went through my purse prior to popping into town, had to order new glasses from Boots, not sure if these count towards my target but

    3 x Birthday gifts on 3 for 2 - saved £20.00
Used double points voucher on above purchase - £3.20
Free points for buying glasses by using voucher - £20.00

MOC used against loaf - £0.30

3 more items listed on Ebay, thanks for all the inspiration and keep up the great work.

Just wondered, do these count towards my total?

    Nothing to report today :o
