I have spent most of the day in bed reading. I should probably have got up and gone for a run and done laundry and gardening. The only thing I have done is chop and bring in 4 baskets of logs. I'm hoping that I'll magically have lots of energy tomorrow....

I'd still catch the tom. You could stick a collar and a note on him asking that if he has owners they either get him neutered or start paying your vet bills. Do any of the neighbours have issues with him. If so maybe you could get something up on your village FB site? It's very irresponsible having an un-neutered cat, and their house must stink...
  • Poor old Fluffy Cat - just when we thought it was safe for him to go out......

Have to agree with greenbee on Bad !!!! Cat’s owners’ irresponsibility and smelly home.......

I have a Mr M delivery every week and they're pretty good although I may be slightly biased as DD works there and I get staff discount. Mr A are the worst by far. I have no choice but to have online delivery as we don't have transport which makes it difficult with the heavy items.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Update on the biscuits - DS2 approves of both. The cumin taste could be stronger, so I'll try toasting next time. Choc/banana ones are ok, but neither flavour comes through properly and they have a cakey texture. Back to the drawing board with them.
  • I went with w/rose in the end as their delivery was free, I could get 5% cashback via the bank, and I had a £14 off code through the post which combined with PYO offers made it the best option. I keep hoping MrM will send me a 'try us' code.

I made the bero brack, some buns for the boys, more biscuits, a thrifty lesley jam slice and the lentil and nut loaf yesterday. OH took a pile of stuff to work as planned and the rest will evaporate. The lentil loaf he liked so much that he has eaten the lot between snacking slices and his packed lunch! One to make again. I used to do a cheese and lentil loaf too, must try and track that recipe down although I suspect it was on one of the lost diaries elsewhere.

Today, as predicted was mostly about work, as it will be all week.

sashybo, mine are all mogs - have 6 in theory, 4 in reality due to the cat stealing neighbours.
Greenbee clearly the cat stealing neighbours need to take him on! Not seen him today.
SA Totally agree on MrA, never again. I deleted my account after the first attempt. MrS pretty poor too and now on my never again list.
seaside he has actually been out willingly today so hope he is a little happier.
Cumbria, glad you are feeling a little brighter
MrsC I did the lemon ones again, but also ginger and chocolate chip - added some blocks of dark chocolate with ginger which changed the texture again, made a flatter biscuit that was nice but I prefer the lemon.

I will check out the lentil and jam slice recipes. Ginger and dark choc sounds right up DS2's street, but I still need to do something with my ginger purchase from last week before I try it out.

Grim week at work, but at least it will all be out in the open come Wednesday evening.
  • I think things get easier once the situation is open, mine is the final stages of something similar so lots for me to be doing.

I found the jam oat bars tasty but they do crumble so not one to carry around. It used up the rest of a jar of HM jam nicely.

Thank you. We have a strategy of sorts in place for Thursday morning, to deal with the aftermath. Difficult to foresee all possible reactions, so we'll be playing it by ear most of the time.
  • Hope it goes ok MrsC.

I am on head down and batter on (dear old Toots, never forgotten). I am due to finish next Wednesday if everything goes to plan so the last minute stuff is increasingly critical. Its also inevitable that the work and stress peaks at this stage, although this company aren't exactly helping

Made spaghetti bolognese (yuck) and chilli (yuck) yesterday which used up a couple of open tins. DS1 is making pizza today at school but he classes that as a snack so I need to think about something to cook.

Used my Am vouchers to pay for most of a new microwave that is due some time today. Cats will be pleased, madam has been sleeping on top of the dead one on the patio :rotfl:

At least after next week I should have time to start sorting the patio.
