The original salmon recipe is here. there a quite a few fast and good recipes on their website, well worth a browse.

First time I have been on the laptop to do the link, hard work from iPad.

:hello: orangena and step up to the plate. Thanks everyone for the new year wishes. I sometimes feel quietly ignored in my day to day existence, so its lovely to feel that here at least I have people who notice I exist. Much appreciated.

Today has been spent doing, rather than planning to do and thinking about doing. Much achieved on a practical level.

    Aims
    January:
Do the accounts and tax return before the last possible minute!
Try and cover at least half of the dentists bill from income - shopping from store cupboard, and no alcohol purchases out of grocery money.

    2018 Aims
    • To make an over payment on the mortgage every single month - no matter how small. From saving on spending if income not available.
    • To not buy any skincare products at all before Christmas 2018, no matter how good the offers are.
    • To not buy any more 'it'll do' clothes, and to re-home the things that are tatty, don't fit or don't suit me. Clear out by end of January.
    • To take better care of myself - use moisturiser every single day, and do something more focused weekly. To eat a more balanced diet that helps my problems rather than hinders. Proper plated meal, including veg, at least five days a week.
    • To develop the business, including the books. Skeleton of book 1 by end of January.

    So, progress so far

    1. I own lots of nice face oils, and used to do a face massage most days but then I got busy with work and stopped. Made time to do this last night, and then used a face pack while I was in the bath. I've also got slack about using moisturiser and hand cream - which are fairly key given my more than 21 twice over age bracket. I have enough oils, creams and masks in the drawers of shame to last all year so no excuses. The self massage video is here if anyone else is interested - I find it relaxing and quite effective.

    2. I tidied the freezer and made a list. I then went back through my recipe ideas list from yesterday and marked the things I can make from stores or with a minor purchase.

    3. The clothes tidy up continued, daily use work clothes for me and OH are on hangers in the wooden clothes rack. How many jumpers and cardigans do I own? Tomorrow I will weed out the bobbled, greige or generally unattractive items from my extensive knitwear collection, and will hang the rest up.

    4. Plated dinner eaten - pot roast beef with roast celeriac, roast artichokes, and steamed carrots, sprouts and kohlrabi. This cleared nearly everything from the fridge but managed to pull together nice packed lunch for OH without resorting to Co-op. Staying out of the co-op is key to cutting spending - nipping in for milk equals junk and alcohol. Bonus: The boy who doesn't eat has decided that raw kohlrabi is his favourite new thing. Must grow some this year.

    5. I found the notebook with the notes of the 'how to write a book in 30 days' techniques I have been looking for. Just remembered there is a conference localish in my specialist subject later this month and i need to see if I can sort childcare so that I can go.
