A few days of peace from my waffle as I have been a little ill.

Just looked online at OHs bank account (moving cash to the black hole that is mine!) and I noticed a distressingly large negative number. Hurrah the remortgage looks like it has gone through :j:j:j

Whats really good is that I will now routinely see it online, which will inspire me to do rounding down payments. Need to keep chipping away at it, even if it is just small amounts. Not this month though, the spending continues! Mostly essential, some of it fritter. Not sure if the settlement figure includes the exit fee from Landmark as there is no breakdown given, so I may get a bill for that yet.

Leek and potato soup on the hob, hopefully I can mange to eat that. On the positive side its been a great bump start to the post Christmas diet.

Great news on the mortgage. Not so great news on the lurgy. Hope you're feeling better - don't overdo things.

Scary how much the prices have increased actually. The original post is 2010.

100g digestive biscuit crumbs (8p) 11p -MrM
50g melted butter (20p)for your base 28p MrM

200g white value chocolate (54p) 60p MrM
142ml double cream (56p) 54p MrM
200g value soft cheese (45p) and mentioned it had gone up from 27p! 52p MrM

The italics prices are MrM today. Making it using MrS is scarier still - last time I looked their value chocolate was closer to 50p.

I've got the lurgy too but sadly it's not affecting my eating/drinking. Feed a cold and starve a fever and all that

Great sympathy from me if you aren't feeling well. I feel better, but still have the lingering cough. The soup sounded just the ticket .

The remortgage has officially gone through so that is one less thing to stress about. Waiting for a letter to tell us the new payment so I can update the budgets. Not clear if the old company will also be billing me the exit fee - I thought it would have been rolled up in the settlement figure but it doesn't look like it was.

Food shopping done this morning, need to play freezer jenga shortly as I cracked and bought *coughs* a few bits of beef in MrM to cut up for stewing or pot roasting. Went round twice as the machine coughed out some £5 vouchers from points too. A&C bringing a veg box later in the week, and I need to pick the turkey up at some point but other than that it'll 'just' be milk and bread in the co-op later in the week.

I have finished the present shopping, and am just waiting for a few bits to be delivered. Just need to wrap it now. I do hate wrapping.

Beef stew (pressure cooker) and mash tonight. Cold and foggy, with no idea of what time OH will be back so an ideal meal.

Great news about the remortgage, just in time for Christmas :j but sorry you've had the lurgy .

I hate wrapping presents too, it always seems to give me a back ache, but we should reward ourselves with some nice comestibles or drinks while doing it :rudolf:.

I still ache and don't want to eat HHoD, and was supposed to be making bits for my office and OHs today but I am going to give it a miss. 24 hour incubation apparently so I picked it up at work myself, hadn't been anywhere else so thought that was the case. Why do people go to work and spread these things?
