Still spearing potatoes and listening to them scream. Many courgettes later... my favourite produce to date are the spiky cucumbers. A pain to peak but lovely taste.Work gets in the way of the garden as always, but I've found a bit of cooking mojo again so we are eating a more varied diet.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

First month without a mortgage payment. Oddly unsettling but we can slowly rebuild the savings now.
garden quite productive despite general neglect first tomatoes today, runner beans first batch and sweet peas yesterday and at least one spiky cucumber per day. The courgette mountain needs addressing tomorrow.
morrisons had the end of season reduced dehydrated 80l coir compost for £2.50 again so I stocked up for polytunnel bed refills and to top up the new lawn beds.
New favourites - baked marinated feta (basically herbs and chilli oil, then baked with some tomatoes for 20 minutes) and celeriac gratin. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Much weeding, and more courgettes and cucumbers picked. Sniffled some sun warmed raspberries too.
spotted a 2 for £20 on Advantage flea stuff earlier in the week (8 tubes, cat or dog, and size) with Animed Direct. It arrived yesterday and is fine so I will be ordering more for the rest of the furry menagerie. Not a huge saving but an essential purchase here with five cats and two dogs.I tidied the freezer and realised we still have two turkey crowns (hurrah) and enough pork cubes/mince to make a proper pork pie for mr redo. Might need lard and flour though. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Courgette fritters with onion, garlic, cumin, chipotle seed, gram flour, egg and fried in chilli oil for a late lunch. Pennies, but lovely. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I use Animed Direct for the dog’s Onsior, much cheaper than getting it from the vet direct but obviously have to pay for the prescription.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
