A productive weekend here. The freezer was restocked with half price meat and many blanched parsnips. The veg plot was cleared and forked over again, and my potatoes planted. Too much done probably as my bad ankle is throbbing, but back to sitting all day tomorrow.Rain and hail today, and glorious sunshine in rapid rotation. Sounds very windy out there now.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Satisfying when you get a job like getting the spuds in done 👏💪😊
And yes, howling gales and rain will stop play for most of the rest of the week. Just hope my sweetpeas survive! 🤞

Thank you - better than I expected, theatrical crunches from ankle and knee but nothing catastrophic. The courgettes need potting on.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Many veg seed planted today between the polytunnel and window ledges. The garden owes me about £20, but it is always difficult to judge the value of what you pick. Proper potatoes and tomatoes are so much tastier than bought, they alone make the effort and spend worthwhile I think. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

To eat veg not sprayed with pesticides might mean you owe the garden rather than it owing you?If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I made a Mary berry banana fruit bread in a tray bake tin today, very nice unlike the usual brick that is banana bread. Subbed peel for cherries (none in discounters, 2.50! In co op)My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
