  • Soup got a thumbs up. I of course neglected to take any lunch due to a last minute boy crisis this morning, and as a consequence dined finely on a banana and a satsuma from the fruit display on reception at work. Not sure they are for actual consumption but I didn't care by then. Came home and added to my quality diet by eating crushed (and slightly stale) crisps retrieved from the murky depths of a school bag.

Everyone else had sausages (yuck) and mash (yuck) with gravy (yuck) and sweetcorn (you've guessed it - yuck!)

    No movement on remortgage
PCR survey done yesterday now credited, need to request payout

New contract has auto enrolled me into the pension. Wasn't going to bother for a short contract as they are usually 1%/1% arrangements but actually this one is good, although it's costing me £50 per month, £210 is going into the pot with the tax and their contribution. Do I tie up £200 now to get £840 plus interest back in ten years (at the earliest)? Need to think about that one.

I think more by luck than judgement on my part :o. What did help was having the regular income from the online work (tedious) but that has now dried up. I have also proved (to myself) that I am good at what I do, and that I am far happier doing my specialist bit and then moving on rather than a more generalist role. I may at some point have to go back to employed, but not for at least another six months.
  • Bits n Bobs today as it is my busy work day with much travel

    £5 requested from PCR
    £5 received from SB
£5 requested from SB - then got 100 on a search which covered todays target
    £5.30 of cashback cleared

No progress on remortgage, will ring and chase tomorrow.
Am tempted to go to the Swedish emporium of cheap furniture tomorrow but probably should not. Need Greenbee to talk me out of this idea.

You hate shops. And there will be people there.

Go and play in the garden instead.
