*door, not done.
I picked up a punnet of strawberries for pennies, DS was then ill and didn't eat them so I made quick jam. Great for hampers, a punnet will fill a small sauce jar (cranberry type)
Hull, wash then rough chop your strawberries and weigh, mash them with a fork in the pan to squash out some juice. Add Equal weight of cheap white sugar and a teaspoon squirt of lemon juice. Low heat and wooden spoon till the sugar melts. Rolling boil for 5 minutes and then wrinkle test before skimming any froth and putting into your heat treated jar. Loose set, give it a couple of minutes more if you want it thicker. Like Bonny madam branded jam.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I should have saved you all the baby Bonne Maman jars my mum had in her advent calendar last year!
I've made a middle-eastern inspired meal today - Lamb & apricot burgers turned into meatballs, with a sauce made from two HUGE yellow tomatoes and lebanese spices as well as beetroot leaves wilted with garlic and haricot beans. I also made some carrot/beetroot/lentil soup. I'm trying to run down the cupboards and freezers... not sure it's working!4 -

Yes just work busy and no mental bandwidth. I also feel mildly guilty about fretting where to put my savings (the mortgage natural money) for the best return when others can't afford to eat.If I was out borrowing the mind of an animal I think we all know it would be a cat. The smallest ginger spent most of today snoring behind me in the temporary study in the man cave having made herself a nest with a down jacket. Must wash it before mr redo notices. I want to spend my days snoring in a secret down nest.
payday money shuffles done, feel like I should buy something to celebrate my (rare) bonus but I don't really need anything. An hour of the central heating?
Last night the co op had a chicken Arrabiata very reduced, mr R said it was very nice do something I need to look into re-creating. I hate pasta and tend to forget that others see it as an acceptable meal.
I have several aubergines to use up so I might make moussaka. Also two nice butternut squashes which suggest squash, chilli, coconut soup.Obsession of the week? Coltsfoot rock
regret? Still haven't bought Christmas presents or even thought much about it
Opportunity? Free delivery on Lakeland if I can spot any useful presents. Hate that whole buy something I don't need to qualify for free delivery thing. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Pasta alla norma with the aubergine? And have it without aubergine yourself? (But with lots of cheese)3
