Thanks SA
I didn't get a phone call but I did get an email in the early hours this morning to say 'you have won', but not how much. When I did get up and logged on to see it was £25 which is a small but useful win, certainly more than it would earn in interest elsewhere at least. First time ever I have won anything, even if it was by proxy as they are in OHs name.
Georgette Heyer Venetia is 99p on Kindle this month. One of my favourite of her books.
Lots of tidying and putting away today as we are gloriously ankle deep in sawdust as much progress is being made. I think I get blind to the mess but also to the changes that are making a real difference now.
Knowing I was going to be busy I put a whole chicken in the instant pot with some stock for 24 minutes of pressure cooking first thing. Left it all to go cold before stripping the carcass, the jellies stock and scraps will form the basis of chicken and vegetable fridge bottom soup tomorrow, and we had chicken and crispy bacon carbonara this evening which was quick and easy rather then getting sucked into a takeaway. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Oh well done on your win Redo - that’s nice to have isn’t it! Your chicken also sounds really tasty - we’ve not had chicken for ages, although we’ll almost certainly roast one while we’re up in the Hebrides after Christmas as it’s an easy straightforward way of getting several meals from one initial cooking session.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well done on the win redo!👍. I've had a few smallish regular wins the last few months since I upped my PB balance - and this after not winning anything since I was about 13 - £25 then - quite a nice amount at the time!

I just smiled at your £75 win Seasidegal, and your retirement do which sounded like fun. We have 5k in so the £25 win was about a years Marcus interest.
Life is whizzing past at the moment. Hurrah it is Friday, but Friday, again, really?
Still no final bill from igl00 but I know I will be in credit at least. My tiny home office heats up well but sitting still is cold despite the hot water bottle and the occasional sneaky boost of the main heating. I have chilblains again from putting my cold feet into a hot bath I guess.
I was muttering at the per kilo price of vac packed beef in MrM, but checking the other SMs it looks like it is fairly consistently £6/kg this year. Its a lot for stewing beef. I suspect this will be a recurring theme.

That’s a great way of looking at the win value Redo!I suspect you’re right about rising costs too - although I did notice that diesel appeared to have dropped back a bit so fingers crossed things may be settling down a bit.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Just popped on to say 'merry christmas' to anyone who is reading.
The iglu money did make it over to my energy account, and hurrah I have some days off. Not overthinking the roast dinner, and the things that should be wrapped are.
