Nice blankets and pets are generally not a good mix. Cats in particular will always sit on something, no matter how small it is folded. The lurcher sucks blankets, and has made a hole in the sofa one! I just buy fleeces from the Swedish place, and let them do their furry thing. Resistance is futile so £1.50 stripy fleeces are everywhere.
I frittered 50p on a cat stocking in Wilkos yesterday. Left it on the window ledge and then found evil ex stray had carefully chewed through the wrappers to get to the cat nip drops. She didn't even want to eat them, just to roll lovingly on a bed of them. Mrs Fatpants had a mouse toy with some cat nip spray so she wasn't much better. The other two just ignore it, not fussed in the least.
Carbonara for dinner last night, I hate pasta but everyone else loves it. Need to get back into a schedule of the Tuesday pasta/Wednesday sausages/thursday mince variety. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

The furry moron licks our carpet. I wouldn't mind but it's always the same spot so we have one very clean patch and the rest is slightly manky. If only he'd do the whole carpet :rotfl:. He's munching his way through a Primani bag at the moment but will happily chew through electrical cables and enjoys attacking the laundry on the clothes horse. I'm sure a cat would be less troublesome :rotfl:.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

My DD has given up with throws and blankets as her cat loves to claw at them.

Had to laugh at the furry moron and his spot cleaning HHOD
Many years ago when I was 10 or so (some, many, lots) a lovely lady came to school and did a cooking demonstration. That was what set me off wanting to be able to cook properly. One of the things she made was a simple chocolate mousse and I always wanted to try making it. Anyway, I wanted to make a pudding yesterday that we could all eat, and I remembered that demonstration. Isn't it funny how these things stay with you?
The boys loved it, indeed the boy who doesn't eat had seconds!
Simple Chocolate Mousse
I melted 140g chocolate (did mix of dark and milk, 30p bars Al/ldl) and left it to cool a little. Separate two eggs, and then whisked the two whites to stiff peak. Stirred in a couple of spoonfuls of sugar and then whisked again. Added the two beaten yolks to the melted chocolate and added a bit of cream (optional), mix well before adding a spoonful of the whisked whites. Fold it in carefully, once the first bit is in then you can add half of the rest, etc. Spoon it into ramekins (did 4 nicely) and then fridge for a few hours to set, or freezer if you are in a rush. Worked out at just under £1 for the 4.
Very adaptable, all dark chocolate is nice but the boys aren't keen. Can add flavours with the egg yolks - alcohol or orange zest for example. They do contain raw eggs so not for everyone. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
