    Thanks!

First of the month shuffle. Rounding over payment on the mortgage. Balance of OHs current account swept to mine, and then mine taken to a round number by tipping the 'spare' over to savings. That isn't a round number sadly, but something has to not be.

Outgoing utilities provider have provided incorrect meter reading to new provider so we have a huge bill - to do with the smart meter and way it recorded the 'free' electricity, v frustrating. Luckily I kept chat transcripts with both parties and date stamped photos of the meter but slow and time consuming to sort.

It helps me keep focused most of the time but I would stop if it became a chore to do. If anonymity worries you then do an alter ego?

Well a pleasant weeks holiday was had by all, lots of walking offset by far too much eating. Straight back to the grindstone though, as the new interim project is a full time one with travel. I'm consoling myself with the thought that every week I make myself do is another month of my usual 'salary' in the business account.

Yesterday we used some of the courgette mountain on fritters, v nice and infinitely adaptable.

    Courgette Fritters
500g grated peeled courgettes. Salted and in a colander in the sink for at least half an hour. Squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can. Transfer to a bowl and add 60g plain flour (i used half semolina) and a half teaspoon of baking powder. Season and add flavours - nutmeg for me - but could use grated parmesan, spring onion, etc, and then add two beaten eggs. Spoonfuls into a hot greased frying pan, give them a couple of minutes to crisp on the bottom and then turn them over to finish cooking. This mix made 16 desert spoon fritters.
We used to do sweetcorn fritters too which I had forgotten about.

    Amazing achievements this year Redo.
It's always such a joy to catch up on your diary.

I shall definitely try your courgette recipe. Courgettes are one of my favourite vegetables.
You've got me musing this weeks meal plan.

I've taken the 'plunge' and gone veggie again. My body just can't digest meat... the odd bit of fish seems fine though.
Mr Star is happy eating mostly Veggie but I do need to have a few meal ideas up my sleeve that I can add some meat to occasionally and avoid cooking two completely separate meals.

Starmummy, I find its difficult to end up not just shoving a bit of nicely crisped bacon on everything. Mind you mushroom or courgette gratin works quite well for that, or I have just the gratin and cook some plain chicken to go on the side for OH. I have fits of going off meat.

Yesterday was painful as we had a power problem specific to a few houses in the village so it was off from mid morning until late evening, and they were still digging when I went to bed. Makes working from home very difficult, but there isn't a local office and I don't really want to abandon the boys to it either. I've charged everything over night, but know it will all be off again at some point later today. Must check the freezer as it was off for 11 hours. Should be fine, left it shut and it is in the cold garage.

Luckily I had a couple of free sims with data on so the boys aren't bending my ear about being completely cut off by the lack of wireless.

Some cashback trickled in, only a few pounds but welcome after the holiday spending. Three lots of petrol just for that, and of course I'm doing the business travel too which has an impact on cash flow.

Don't seem to be any closer to resolution on the utilities, so much for 'it'll only take a few days to sort' but the new providers are significantly cheaper.

One of the phones went out of sim only contract so sorted that with a new sim only deal, more for less with the same people so straightforward.

Some more cashback cleared, hurrah. I've got nothing left due now so that'll be quiet for a long while. I ordered a £10 voucher from SB, again not likely to do more for a while as the return has dropped drastically and I don't really have time.

I have used up the last dregs of quite a few things this week, shampoo, eye cream, moisturiser, etc so pleased with that. Shiny new things out of the stash, still have several years worth.

I feel your pain with SB redo, drastic reduction in earnings through the apps. :(

Always nice to open new toiletries, I have a lot of body washes & moisturisers to work my way through. :o
