Sadly it didn't generate space as such. It just took some of the shelves to single stacked. Looks much better for it though.
Greenbee - always apply it, tube on desk, in car, by bed, etc. Very dry skin seems to be part of the current issues. I think I've got a pack of those tea tree gloves somewhere, will have a look shortly.
Went out for milk this morning, came back and did a couple of bits on prolific and then just haven't really got moving. Got to take a boy to the opticians to pick up his new glasses in a bit.
*dithers a bit more*
Last night I made my own pesto for the first time, and then used it in a chicken based risotto. It was very nice - and I don't like the stuff in jars. I think I'd drizzle it on top rather than stirring it through next time.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

ooh... if you're making your own pesto it's time to turn the polytunnel into a basil factory! My mum did this with the greenhouse in her old house for a few years when we were kids and it was fabulous!0

makes the tunnel smell lovely too....
That and the tomato plants. I have a chair, just so I can sit and smell them togetherMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

When I have my own place I very much want to grow things... Tomato and Basil sounds lovely. Righ, that's my debt busting / deposit saving hat firmly on :rotfl:
Sorry you felt not so great with the Openreach engineers unexpected visit. I really hope you didn't beat yourself up about it too badly. I struggle to keep our place clean and all I'm responsible for is our room, the kitchen and bathroom. I'm sure the engineers probably don't even register the states of various houses as they must see so many. I do understand it's a pride thing though. Glad it gave you motivation to sort that bit out.
Well done on the book clear out6 bags  I think deep down I'm a bit of a natural hoarder... But one who wants to be a minimalist. I accumulate so much rubbish and I am loathe to get rid of things but at the same time really, really dislike clutter. Have had some big clear outs recently and am determined not to end up with more unnecessary 'stuff'.

Tomato and basil? you can grow your own soup. How satisfying would that be?If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

The trick is to not get suckered into spending more than the produce would cost in the first place. I'm surrounded by courgettes, and of course they are on offer everywhere as it is peak season.doingitanyway wrote: »Tomato and basil? you can grow your own soup. How satisfying would that be?
Very much so. I probably should be looking for a courgette soup recipe too.
Last night we had the 'eat well for less' all in one pasta dish again, only this time using the last few inches of chorizo from the freezer, adding some RTC chicken and subbing courgettes for mushrooms. V popular with those who actually like cooked tomatoes.
I picked up a bag of on offer french bread flour in Aldee yesterday (65p/1.5kg). They also had Rye and Spelt at 50p. I made my standard bread mix and then had problems with it being too wet to shape, and then it collapsing a bit, so it does need a shorter rise. The texture was nice and the taste was softer. I will try again but will let it proof in a cast iron casserole instead. Thought about making croissants but I have done that before, a lot of faff for mixed returns.
Spent the weekend moving the house bits on, which has generated more mess but the bits that have been painted/repaired look far better so I don't mind. The bathroom ceiling needs sanding where the cracks got filled, and then painting by OH at the weekend. I find working above my head really difficult - and of course its just far enough to be a stretch but not enough for a step on ladder bench thing. Every time I start sanding the rest of the house ends up covered in dust, despite dust sheets and shut doors. Its really hot and sweaty with a dust mask on too so I have to do short bursts.
Filled the green waste bins ready for collection today, some things really are thriving like the mature lavender. The wisteria trimmings filled a whole bin by themselves, and I have only done the bottom bits. Need a ladder and OH for the rest. Hot work trying to get the weeds out when the ground is baked solid but the bits I have done look much better. The accidental blackberry patch already has some ripe berries on, must start picking and freezing those until I have enough for the annual batch of bramble jelly. Tomatoes and cucumbers are flowering nicely so I am hopeful of crops shortly.
Income wise I had a little flurry of activity on PA but that is about it. Managed to register for a different company for tedious homeworking but the only thing they have is not suitable for me.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Frittering today, formal shoes (clarks sale), straight jeans (M&S sale), a lovely sludge green snood, a couple of plain but bright coloured tops and more boy socks (primarni) meant a total unscheduled spend of c£50. I don't actually own any formal shoes which makes client meetings in this weather somewhat challenging. I sweltered in fur lined boots yesterday
Really should think of something for dinner. Don't think I can get away with pasta for the third time this week :cool:My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
