EasyJet passenger holding baby 'punched by airport worker'

EasyJet is "urgently seeking answers" after one of its passengers was apparently punched by an airport worker.
Images of the incident at Nice Airport have since been circulated on social media.
Both men were taken away, but fellow passengers demanded the man with the baby was allowed to board his flight.
An easyJet spokesman said the person in the photograph is believed to work for Nice Airport's special assistance provider Samsic.
"We are urgently taking this up with Nice Airport and their special assistance provider Samsic, who we understand the person photographed works for."

Am I to assume that if someone walked up to you and pushed their hand into your face, you would calmly walk away?trinidadone wrote: »If thats true, i dont agree the airport worker should of struck back
Maybe the airport worked feared that the man concerned was going to have another go at him so he struck out to ensure that this didn't happen.
IMO, anyone who is holding a baby hits another person deserves everything they get as they probably thought that the baby would prevent any retaliation.0 -

not exactly the same thing using myself and what happened here, firstly i do not work for a airline, secondly i do not have a baby of that age.
Professionally that is exactly what your expected to do, walk away, your in a position og helping others, we dont know what led up to this, however the air port staff member needs to lose his job before he loses his temper again, we cant allow air port staff to behave in the same way as this customer might of done.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. And that is exactly what is wrong here. Why should anyone who works in customer services have to tolerate abuse and rudeness?? People take advantage of the fact that often people in customer service roles will not retaliate for fear of losing their job. If both men where simply passengers, then the bloke holding the baby most likely would not have provoked the other man for fear that his actions would have the result that it did.
I've just returned from a holiday and was saddened by the number of people who did not thank those who provided them with a service, e.g. waitress/es, bar staff, etc.
People who work in customer services are human beings too, with feelings. Treat them as you would like to be treated.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

I am afraid in the real world that exactly what is received by members of the public. If both gentlemen were passengers, i would still feel the same, that both are wrong, however as this individual is employed, he kind of should know better. I do genuine sympathize with the staff member, as soon as he struck a paying customer, its game over what ever the passenger did or said, that not the appropriate behavior to express.
While again i sympathize with the staff not getting a pat on the back, some would argue, that what i am paying for.
Agree with the treat how you want to be treated, but again in the real world how realistic is that???Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -

I've not read anything about the pax getting the first punch in - do you have a link to this please.
So you think that a customer - regardless of how delayed the flight was and regardless of the fact that he is travelling with a child - should be allowed to punch an airport worker (who probably had nothing to with the delay) with impunity?trinidadone wrote: »not exactly the same thing using myself and what happened here, firstly i do not work for a airline, secondly i do not have a baby of that age.

It's not up to you to say the airport worker should lose his job based on what you've read.
It's up to his employers to investigate the incident and take action that they deem is appropriate for what happened.0 -
