Maman do mind me asking where the stop button sits these days. What do you class as low tolerance?
I suppose it depends where you're coming from cuppa. Before I joined this thread I was drinking at least a bottle of wine a night, every night of the week. Frequently we'd open two bottles and I would have more than my half IYSWIM or to hide my consumption from DH I'd have a couple of glasses of sherry mid evening to make the wine last longer. Weekends and parties I'd probably have even more.
Now I try to have 4 AF nights a week and at weekends I don't finish a bottle of wine each night. I stop mid evening and have a cuppa;) to pace myself. Recently I've switched to mainly drinking gin and my NBF is a jigger! It's one of these measures
which means that I have exactly 25mls each time. I can manage 4 to 5 a night liberally diluted with tonic. That might still be an awful lot to some people but for me it's the limit beyond which I know I risk a hangover. HTH.
Today's my last AF day for August as I'm out for dinner with friends tomorrow.
September won't be an easy month, we're away for a few days next week and there are a number of family birthdays but if I can scrape my 10 I'll be happy.:)

Bank holidays are really, really tough if you're used to drinking on the days when you don't plan to work the next day. We all go a bit mad, it seems, over the August Bank holiday, Christmas and New Year. For some reason, Easter and the May Bank Holiday aren't usually quite so tough.Poor_Single_lady wrote: »But In my bid to cut down a friend who drives has introduced me to Alcohol free Ginger beer.
She has no idea how much this will help me and does not understand my gratitude. It's very very nice. Would recommend to all.
Ginger beer is a godsend! And, as this is MSE, you can make it yourself, which I thoroughly recommend.
*Ouch* Shaggy! I think I've got my sugar cravings and consumption under control, but I could still do with losing the 8lbs or so I can't seem to shift. I feel your pain. Good luck with it. 30/31 please.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi all,
Weighed myself this morning and I've put on a stone and a half in 14 months :eek: I know why - I have been worrying about someone I love who is going through a horrible break up. But this must stop!
Lots of AFDs must be had.
Shaggyx
I feel your pain Shaggy. I put on half a stone on holiday and 2 months on I've only managed to shift a couple of pounds. I'd recommend non alcoholic ginger beer with no added sugar!
This is on offer at Sainsbury's at the moment. I find it better than the own brands. Unfortunately so many soft drinks can be very sweet. I don't like the taste and I certainly don't like the calories! That's why I've been having gin with slimline lately.0 -

Thanks for the explanation Maman. I've found that helpful. I've felt guilty thus august and want to get back on track. My days haven't slipped massively but my consumption on non AF's is creeping up.
15/16 please shaggyLive for the moment and plan for the future0
