Morning all, 26/21 for me thanks, working tomorrow sadly so even if I fancied a drink tonight it would be a bad idea.

Thanks Honey Bear - if you and Maman both think that then I'm happy to treat that as a sort of official decree :) In fact I made the choccy sauce last night and couldn't even taste the marsala - it just tasted like a very rich chocolate sauce (and was delicious). The truffles you have been eating sound delicious too, I must say.

If I were an addiction specialist or counsellor I might feel differently, but I'm not so I'm just talking about what's worked for me for three and a half years. Your chocolate sauce sounds fab, and is probably the way food is supposed to taste when booze is added - another layer of flavour, as opposed to the tang of alcohol itself.

For information, if you're ever in the southwest on holiday and passing through Plymouth, this is where the lovely boozy chocolates come from. It's the closest shop to where I live - with the Plymouth gin distillery next door. Temptation, or what?

I'm glad we're in agreement HB although I think your DH might have an ulterior motive in squirreling away his chocolates! ;)

Yes, well, that occurred to me too!

23/20 for me please and even the drinking days only contained a glass of wine at most so a massive improvement on previous months / years.

Isn't that just the best thing - being able to drink moderately and still enjoy it. Good on you Mudbath.

Well done for making your target in December MaggieM, and everyone else who did. I think it's probably the toughest month of the year because everyone now associates booze with any and every celebration, and generally having a good time, and we're not allowed to let the side down by not having one these days, apparently. It's all nonsense of course, but it's a pervasive nonsense. :T :T :T

    31/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi all

Just here to post a challenging target for me for January ...going for 19 which is based on plans in place and a need to lose some weight in the early month.

    Thanks
  • 17 please, Shaggy, total for December. Target of 22 for January please. And thanks very, very much for keeping the scores again this year, I really appreciate it

Happy New Year to everybody on here :jxxxxx

Happy Hogmanay everyone and all the very best for 2018 when it arrives

Tonight brings me to 21/24 for December so did not make target but still pleased with the number - matches Octobers 21 and way better than Novembers 7
Now to make January a full 31 - have not done a full month since January this year

For anyone out celebrating tonight enjoy and stay safe

Honey Bear, I looked the choccy shop up and it looks beautiful, not just the chocolate but the shop itself, and I must say the Plymouth gin distillery sounds like a good thing too, at least from where I'm standing :rotfl:Never had gin chocolates, sounds yum. I think you are absolutely right about alcohol in food too.
